Considering the 125cc class let's see what other options do we have. There are only 2
1)Ravi Piaggio 2)Deluxe
Yes i know a lot of people here on PW have bought Piaggio and it's a good bike but let's be honest how many Piaggio's do you see everyday on the roads. Very few contrary to which the number of 2015 models CG's rolling on the roads is staggering. Identified by the number plate which says 15(indicating the model) at the back, so their quantity may be much more than what meets the eye.
Plus my recent visit to Anmol Honda Dealership (5S dealership) for tuning further confimed this when i was told that sale of CG's is better than ever resulting in price increase.
Similarly the sale of Deluxe is stable to stay the least but overall very low if you compare it with the classic version. This reflects in price as they also remain same. People consider Deluxe to be over priced, soft, difficult to maintain and with expensive parts and to some extent they are right. They would rather buy the less expensive, hard, proven with excellent resale value classic version than the more modern and stylish deluxe.
Lack of genuine competitor means that the boyhood dream of masses remains the first choice and has given license to AHL to enforce it's monopoly.
