Problem in L15a1 Vtec Swapped City

It's an OBD-II so 4 plugs..

my bad on the 4, I do recall working on the Honda Citys while recalibrating their first clutches or unfiddling the wiring under the steering and glovebox - and they had 5 plugs for the CVT and 4 for the M/T however I did come across some oddball JDM engines with 4 plug ECUs running CVT.

i wonder that all is compatiable or not......!!!
thats why asked u to engage vtec manually .............!! you said vtec engage at 3500...?? how come it in non vtec ecu

actually when you post your swap at "steermatic fan club"" you informed next day you are gona swap thats why I kept quite with finger crossed
Current steermatic engine & ECU will no way coup up with manual tranky, steermatic is equipped with sophisticated sensor's so I think you need to completely get rid of current setup of ECU , kill all the sensor system's and I hope with the help of @machizmo & manual L15 engine ECU you will solve the problem.

I'll have a hard time finding a manual ECU for the L15a1. However, I have searched and learned that D16Y, The engine in 2001-2005 Civic VTi also run's on OBD2a ECU. I will be available aswell because it was used locally..

What do you and other experts say?
Both have same single stage Vtec and ECU pinouts are same aswell...

are you sure the pin outs are same?, both are different generation engines and i think that they will different in sensors too.

how will you run the 4 additional ignitor assys your L15 engine has with the D16Y ECU - VTEC aside, first get the minimum running correct. all injectors and all ignitors (coils) firing regularly in full engine rpm operating range

My engine is not the one with 8 Coils. It is a 4 coil one, 4 ignitors in your language. The L15a1 Vtec has 4, not 8. If it was the 8 coil one, I could have easily fired the car on old wiring and ECU aswell.

Yes the L series engine uses OBD2a ECU's and so does the D16 series. All OBD2a's have same wiring pattern.

Make It Confirm Fahad ........!!! Engines Are quiet different..........as well as sensors too...!!
D16Y ecu is a good choice if its compatible....

How to get an ECU remapped?

Its some what impossible to do it in Pakistan as i never had came across any done that before....Ur engine trips when its time to enguage Vtech...Try to find a proper ECU for it...Visit ur engine provider and explain him this problem in quiet simple words may be he would help...Or do visit Honda Fort...

the only way to make it work is to go back to your engine vendor and get the proper matching ECU for your engine - as mentioned in the above posts.

For trying to run the D16 ECU - compare both engines revolution sensors side by side to see if the match - if they do - you have a chance of using it.
