Both systems are ok, the article you posted is not exactly correct for your application, as the old american systems were different, they had one pod for a certain range of advance and the other port for more, some even had two canisters on the dissy, one to advance one to retard.
My suggestion would be to remove and overhaul the distributor, if the centrifugal weights are sloppy, try to shim them with plastic inserts, but if they are gone to hell - you would need to either rebush them and install new springs or get a new distributor.
For rebushing I would suggest you seek help from pro motorcycle ignition repair shops, there are two in Karachi, one in liaquatabad and its other branch behind Radio Pakistan. I think they are branded as saleem something.
