Procedure to Change Engine Number in Registration Book (Islamabad)

Salam to all PW Members,

We have recently changed the engine of one of our cars. The old one was 1199 CC whereas the one it is replaced with is 1500 CC. Kindly elaborate the procedure for updating the new number in the registration book. The car is Islamabad registered (IDB) 1986 model. Will it effect on the annual token fee too? What will be the total expense and how much time will it take?

the receipt from scrapyard does not mention engine cc does it ? it will be your choice to be honest or play trick.

you need to apply at excise mvr office islamabad with scrapyard receipt mentioning the engine number. fill out the form attach the receipt and original papers / file of the vehicle along with cnic copy. As precaution you can check the status of scrap yard engine number from islamabad police ; sometimes stolen vehicle engines are also sold at scrapyards.

if the engine cc is modified the annual tax / road tax also change. however you may get waiver for annual tax for car being over 15 year old.

Engine cc isn't be changed on book in pakistan. First get the engine cleared from 15 then apply for procedure.

i swaped my old 1000cc engine with 1300cc engine in 2017 but i pay tax till june,2019 of 1000cc. how can i update new engine on book while my engine receipt is dated 2017 and i pay tax till 2019.
