The work practices do leave something to be desired, but one has to make do with what is available.

Ideally, this car should be completely stripped and mounted on a rotiserrie for restoration, but the work being done is far better than letting it die a slow death.

reminds me of my weird adventures.

My self made wooden rotiserrie is at home in Pakiland - that thing has mounted a few cars and served well, the underbody work becomes absolutely fun and the bylookers are like - is that car on its side??

but a car at a desi home on a rotiserrie is quite attractive for daant (yelling) from elders and sometimes other stuff, like extra chores or sleeping outside the house (wifey)

may i suggest that once the welds are done that all the metal is either snad blasted or chemically stripped to ensure that the surface is rust free, this will stop the spread of rust in the future and will also allow you to make sure that the joins are strong.

I once had a piece put in the floor of my first beetle (back in 1999) and the joints failed as the muppet had welded the new panel to a part that rusted away shortly after. i learned from my mistakes, now i always make sure.

This is what you call extreme Pakistani creativity.

Extreme, because that's the limit for us.

Our Arab friends with lots of money manage to import million dollar vehicles and planes.

Our Pakistani friends with lots of money pick some piece of junk and start rebuilding it (Salute to their R&D skills!!!).

No wonder we deserve the likes of Mehrans from our Japanese friends, coz even Almighty Allah blesses us with some riches, we don't have the brains to utilize it other than the creativity purposes.

PS: No offense intended at anyone Its just my own opinion that we can find ways to promote technology and R&D in Pakistan rather than spending on such useless stuff.
