Sorry for replying late, the project cost till now is abt 290k without the registration which is still pending and also without the top which I intend to get fabricated by end jan.........

The registration is a real mess, in the last budget the govt has imposed some with holding tax. In my case the engine capacity is 2.2l so the with holding tax is 50k and the other charges amount to 22k so the total registration cost is something like 72k.

Regarding the time schedule, azkhan did a wonderful job. He was always on the top of the mechanic....... the jeep was on the road in something like 40-45 days including the body work........ The paint was the most fun, we did it ourselves with the help of a few friend who were invited for lunch and did all the sanding work till dinner:d

Hi all,

The project progress report has been attached.

For all pw's thinking of starting the jeep project in islambad (i dont know of other places) and having concern about the parts I would like to clarify that they are easily available. I am enlisting all the places where I have to go for finding parts.

1. Taj Autos (All brake parts, suspension parts, bushes, brake washers, lights, gauges, bearings (all sort) and mostly things new available).

2. Engine dealer (anyone from mitho khan, as lots of different engines are available)

3. Al Mohsin radiator works city saddar road for tank repair. (Could not find a clean new one)

4. General car's Old Kabbar (we used chahe sultan)

5. Normal Auto parts shop

6. Majid Autos (All brake parts, suspension parts, bushes, brake washers, lights, gauges, bearings (all sort) and mostly things new available).

7. Haji Islam Kabbaria (Each and every part of jeep available second hand).

And you have to get free for atleast 40-50days to look after the project. Plz feel free to ask any questions.

What should be the price of auctioned M38AI? I have seen a jeep standing at a KABARI YARD. I am intrested to buy a jeep but i have no experince.The jeep i have seen is looking good,no rusted body,and they purchased just form the recentArmy auction in Karachi.

I own the same M38A1 jeep as yours in this post with original Hurricane F-134 petrol engine+cng, LHD and 24v electrical system in running condition and I use it on daily basis. It had been modified by its previous owner due to which its Carburetor, Distributor, Fuel pump, voltage regulator & rims are not original. I just saw your post and although it seems like a long shot & very late, do you happen to have the above mentioned parts in your inventory or if you can help me in this regard? Any help would be highly appreciated.
