So with the back end now complete, the following are in top notch and restored to spec,
Rear Subframe
Boot Floor
Boot Lid
Rear Valence
Rear Brakelamp fixtures
As for the front, the subframe has been completed and the firewall and engine bay have been repaired completely on three sides. The front apron and valence need to be reconstructed from scratch as the scraps of metal welded together on the car had the following problems,
a) Old metal had not been repaired, but new metal had been slapped on to cover it
b) It was a hybrid setup containing some original metal, some suzuki frame and some custom made fascia. The whole package was wrapped by the previous denter in his signature five layers of steel putty!
c) There was no structural integrity
d) It was unsightly
Here is the master piece,
The Make up
The Master piece
For all the above reasons i opted to simply cut out the whole thing from the root and did not try to salvage any thing that may have been buried deep under layers of modification.
As for the destruction process I started with the Custom made fascia at home while the engine was being removed,
We Basically yanked it off since we had no torch to melt the joint, though it turns out there were no real welds, the things was just held together by filler and came off with relative ease
The other side was a bit hard since the thin sheet of metal ( as if there werent enough surprises already) folded on itself making it hard to force the joints loose.
So, for the first time in life, i did not mind the desi way of simply hacking away at something without any general planned direction.
