I may have a couple...what use do you have for them??

if you remember the cups on the back of my door latches on the 1303 are plastic while the opening latch metal part is chrome... so basically i need the cups to complete the look i want...

The paint has been wet sanded and polished (cut). I am waiting to get the brake servo fitted and a few other bits done in the coming weeks. I'd like to get a final treatment when the bus is done with the jobs that subject the finish to greasy hands etc.

Pls do tell about M80. Where can it be purchased from? I am interested.

it isnt available locally, it is a meguiars mirror glaze series product (meant to be used by professionals). the special thing about this is that it is very oily, you put it on a foam pad liberally and then start moving the pad to and from in straight lines. the product seems to get absorbed into the paint with your initial wipes, the remainder turns into a thin film that you have to rub with the pad till it is nearly gone. the problem with locally available compounds is that they contain solvents that steal the oils from the paint, this one on the other hand gives oils and is very lightly abrasive.

btw can i use the pics of your bus on another forum, just to get a recommendation on what would be best to use on it. im in favour of m80 but want to get opinions of more experienced people so we cant go wrong
it costs around 1500 and is suitable for use by hand, rotary buffer or DA buffer and is designed to be safe for use on brand new paint jobs. If you have any relatives coming from abroad you can order it from amazon and get it delivered to their address and have them bring it with their luggage (saves tax and time). if thats not possible i will try and find someone who can do it for you.

Thank you for the detailed response. I do have a rotary polisher that I can use and I brought some extra buffing wheels for it too. If the product is available on Amazon it should be easy as I have family traveling all the time. I usually adopt the same mode i.e. order at a US address and someone carries the item in their personal baggage. Please feel free to use the pictures on another forum if you wish and do keep me posted.

yes it is...actually they all are. My convertible was painted more than 6 years ago and it needs a treatment too. There are just too many swirl marks.

m80 would be perfect for your convertible and a treatment of m07 show car glaze before the m80 would make the results much much better

what i am going to do with my margalla is that i will first give it a clay bar treatment so that the surface is totally smooth, then give a massage with m07 glaze to give the paint some oil, leave the car for 24 hours with only the m07 applied and then go over it with m80. it will help get better and long lasting resuts with less cutting. and then apply wolfgang paint sealant to protect the finish for good (suzuki single stage is pretty thin and of terribly bad quality).

Its not paint my friend... Truck art is local to Pakistan but is done with IMPORTED 3M stickers...

the truck art is not paint but tiny bits of reflective vinyl

I just got a dual bottle set of Surf city garage, sealer and nano wax for about 8 dollars at a closeout sale, mothers synwax for 2..

The surf city sealer is really good to make the paint shine - apparently it lodges itself into the paint pores to make it shiny, it smells feels and spreads like 3M hand glaze (which I prefer) - but the incredible shimmer and shine of the surf city products really made the finish pretty, The nano wax jobbie enhances this shine further.

For the bus I would suggest 3M hand glaze, apply and leave it for about 4 hours in the shade, then replenish with some more glaze and gradually buff it off with a clean woven cotton cloth, cheesecloth or microfiber. Finish off with some HD synthetic wax of any brand. Reglaze in the next 4 months again as the paint is new.

I have tried it when I was in Pakistan, there used to be a guy who sold such stuff from his home, good stuff no doubt, quite useless now as most cars are not SS anymore.

I had a small hitachi grinder that i had attached a polish wheel to - I used to do it in the nighttime as the cars body would be cool, speading it out with a soft bonnet with the grinder at medium rpm (used millat fan speed dimmer to control rpm). To remove it I used a cheese cloth with some of this already in it. The resutlts were very nice - but it needs a top coat of wax too - specially in Karachi in the winters as dust tends to float in the air.

what type of shops keep cheese cloth?
do you have any pics of that grinder that you were using as a buffer, my cousin also wants to use a grinder for buffing, he figured out about using the dimmer but isnt sure about how to attach any pads to the grinder

the grinder is a regular handheld hitachi baby grinder in silver colour with a flick switch at the back, I had modified a platform that I nicked from another buffer that was tightened onto the hub, Make sure the platform you make is nice n even, otherwise you might shatter it when the machine picks up speed.

Its a smaller version of a rotary buffer if you want to make a picture of it in your mind.
