Unlike all that quoted above, i had owned a cultus for ten years. From 2002 to 2012, i loved the vehicle, never had any major issues, its all about maintenance, i drove mine countless times at 150-160, no issues at all. The thing is that since its a non abs car, don't expect it to behave like one. Applying the brakes on a non abs vehicle requires technique, get them properly serviced and get good gripping tires, won't have any problem. I drove my vehicle for around 175k kms, the only major work required was shocks replacement and clutch plate, pressure plate replacement. As for safety, its alright(the old one that is, as time went on, quality fell), my father was caught in a wild boar stamped, and the vehicle did remarkably well in it.
The only reason that made me sell the vehicle was the fact that its seat are a bit low, and getting in and out was straining the knees.
Welcome to answer any queries about it.
PS 10 years, 175k kms, not once did I open the carburetor or had any setting issues with it, its all about maintenance.
