I will recommend to buy Xbox-360 slim modified and enjoy the games at pretty low price, PlayStation 3 is only recommended if you live in Europe or you are rich.

I am also thinking to buy xbox or ps. Dont know anything about gaming consoles at all.
Read all the posts and came to the conclusion that xbox is better for me

i dont like playing video games so never bought any gaming console. Buying to play it on weekends maybe.

If I buy xbox from uk how can i play pirated games on it ? From where can i get it hacked so that it plays local cds ? And how much does that cost ?

That'z not necessary to have HD tv, PS3 runs on AV cable as well which come originally. How ever you can buy a PS3 (used) because it will have 3.55 FW, Its simply means that it has a software which can be hacked and you can easily play pirated / hacked games on your PS3 system. On the other hand you can go for Xbox360 (new), you can buy or burn cd's yourself and play, or can get JTAG (get software hacked, to play downloaded games). I would refer you for xbox360 as it'll be new. I have both but i play xbox360 more as its hacked. Go for xbox360, if you need any help regarding this you can contact me thru PM !Shahrukh
