Ptcl being inconsistent again

Anybody in islamabad suffering from inconsistent Internet? I getting a headache from the ptcl nonsense and am actually considering switching to nayatel now. It's the 4th day today that the Internet is acting crazy and everything is slow.

This time I'm seriously considering leaving ptcl in favour of nayatel, the only thing holding me back is the very well priced 8mb Internet connection that I'm currently using which isn't avaliable on the nayatel side

The thing that really annoys the crap out of me is that every time you call them they will ask you to run the ptcl speed test which is conveniently hosted on their own servers and it shows insane speeds and then the call representative says that everything is okay at their end. This makes you want to pull your hair out every time you get the slightest bit of problem with the internet connection.

Is it frequent internet disconnection issues?

If yes, then downgrade your internet speed one step down (i.e. 4mbps) and it will improve stability significantly.

PTCL lines are all old copper ones and messed up, that's why they cannot handle high speed broadband.

The others have limited bandwidth issues, so nothing is peace of mind. Lol

On a side note, don't seed torrents and change WiFi password. Lol.

I gave my wifi password to my neighbor (for basic tasks as his internet was having some issues, and the next day, 7 additional devices from his side were connected and internet ran like an overloaded donkey.

No its not, I have very good line parameters. The problem is usually with the ptcl servers or the exchange. I rarely get problems but when you get them then it's really annoying.

Just DM them on their twitter account @ptcl_Cares with your phone number and issue description. Your exchange will get an email from corporate, and they'll be falling head over heels trying to fix your problem.

Yes PTCL has been crazy in Lahore for the past 3 days. Speed was slow then yesterday morning net stopped working completely.

As per the complaint helpline 1218, it was a backend issue (they can never claim that unless it is actually happening). Allah ka shukar hai my issue is fixed now.

Yes Facing the same issue. They are pathetic in services i have registered a complaint on 9 th and today is 12 nov no action has been taken yet. PTCL was good earlier but now it is worst.

Oh I thought you are in Lahore because here the PTCL is giving headaches and heartaches. For the past one month my broadband works like crazy. If I am connected for 5 minutes it gets disconnected for the next 15 minutes. I called the local exchange, their guy came and said the modem has to be changed. It was installed a few months ago. I got it changed and installed a new one by PTCL people. Problem stayed. Then I messaged @PTCLOfficial and @PTCLCares on Twitter. Ten days later I realized that they have a set of answers which they repeat one after the other. Conclusion is that I got ZONG USB and wifi. The next day my internet by PTCL was working fine. I am forced to believe there is a connection.

Has anyone tried wi-tribe's new 4.5G packages? The prices are very reasonable.

Have very bitter experience of Wi-tribe. Got a package and within a few days all my GB were gone while there were no torrent downloads or any heavy work involved. They were contacted and they simply shrugged their shoulders. I am not going to try them again.

I was having consistent problems in internet (dsl light off by itself). got line checked, modem checked all ok. problem was at exchange. now whenever I have a complaint I vist the exchange personally. problem is usually fixed in 15-20 minutes. again it may or may not work in your case my problem is such in nature that it need to be fixed from exchange.

as suggested by some valuable members here, buying zong or witribe is great until you learn you cannot get sufficient signals in your area or your house is built in the "wrong" way for their signals. At the end PTCL wins in infrastructure be it 70 year old copper wire.

for your benefit, i would advise you to obtain name of the relevant incharge of your area and try to meet them even for 1 short minute. Their issued instructions are effective in solving problems. Senior posts officials are very active in resolving issues as long as your approach them respectfully.

Last, complaint on 1218 before doing any of above is necessary as thats the official record of the complaint.
