I totally agree with first part of your posting ... this thread has been going on for so many days ... and it seems the initiator does not want to buy anything ... of course, pakwheels allows discussion on non-wheels, but now it seems that this thread is going nowhere.
Bhai .. I attended a briefing at HoneyBee research institute at NARC, Islamabad some years ago. If honey does not freeze, then it is not pure. Purity is a relative term when it comes to honey. If pure means the product direct from the hive, then surely all branded honeys do not qualify. Honey direct from the hive contains substantial amounts of wax ...
The branded companies do not want their honey to freeze. Hence, they have to boil the honey. Wax being lighter than honey comes to the surface and it is removed. The remaining honey does not freeze. However, I have my doubts that we can call it pure honey after removal of wax. Besides, boiling removes so many other healthy ingredients. I the words of that research scientist, the boiled honey is equal to maple syrup.
If the honey freezes, please do not heat it directly in microwave or in a pan over the stove. It must be slowly heated in a water bath ... i.e. add water in a pan and heat it slowly .. then lower the bottle of honey in it (without touching the walls or base of the pan) ... that way you can preserve the healthy ingredients.
There are so many desi ways to check purity .. e.g.
feeding it to a dog, if the dog rejects it, then it is pure:P ... it is possible that the dog might not be hungry, so it might reject fake honey too
The only possible way to check purity of honey is to get it analyzed in a modern lab .. like the one in NARC HoneyBee Research Institute ..
