Just curious; what would happen if he completely loses his patience?

PW developers are working quite diligently to fix all issues. Unfortunately, there are more pressing issues that must be resolved at the moment. They are fully aware of all issues reported by our members and will take care of them as soon as possible. I appreciate yours and everyone elses patience and understanding. Thank you.

I must assume that detecting sarcasm is not one of your fortes. I was insinuating the phenomenon commonly known as going postal.

Moderators are volunteer workers. They certainly have responsibilities but certain tasks are beyond their administrative capabilities. Blaming the moderators when one doesn’t have any understanding of operational protocols instituted at Pakwheels.com is quite irresponsible, to say the least.

Moderators accounts do not have permissions to make system changes. Only developers have full access to fix issues that require making changes to user data. Moderators are not developers. They are moderators. Moderators are also not administrators, another level of users that enjoy more system wide permissions compared to moderators. Moderators are not administrators. Moderators ca not fix system wide issues related to user accounts.

I hope this time you will get better understanding of organizational structure of Pakwheels.com. If you are still not sure why moderators can not fix certain issues, you are welcome to keep pointing your finger at me and keep laughing hysterically. I wont mind.

so when a pw user asks u to forward their complaint about an issue, then you should act professionally and respond in that manner. you could say i have no control over it or you could say i will forward ur complain. but making fun of the member and being critical about it is not YOUR JOB!!! that is what i am trying to make you understand, but apparently u only read why u like. if it is not part of ur job then just say that, dont have a field day with pw user's queries. i hope i have made myself more clearer to you this time. and yes u can check this whole thread, almost all mods, when stand corrected, just start saying how they are volunteers and how this job must be equal to serving in the armed forces. well it is not. and just coz u r a volunteer doesnt mean u have no responsibility. plz be professional and not make everything personal. that would be greatly appreciated. thanks. hopefully i was successful in making my point clear to you this time.

Congratulations to the administrators and moderators for running a really useful forum for vehicle enthusiasts. Every day when I turn on the computer in the morning, after checking my emails, I always visit PakWheels.

Here are couple of my comments/ suggestions:

1. The search tool is not good. Whenever I have to search for something, I go to Google and search like this "corolla 2010 www.pakwheels.com" I think the integration with a search engine is not difficult. Please try to improve the search options. There is a condition that members should avoid posting new threads on previous topics ... without the option to search systematically, I think the members feel helpless, and they start new threads ...

2. Quality of writing by members is generally very good, and I have never seen "machli market" environment here. Congratulations to all.

3. Members write what they feel, but sometimes their feelings might not be understandable to others ... I have seen topic like "weird", "weird!", "stuff for sale" ... While the members may be advised to follow some kind of control in writing the thread title, it would be advisable for the mods to think of .. perhaps ... a flow chart like chain for posting topics.

4. I have not sold anything on PakWheels, but certainly I look forward to good merchandise on this website. I think, it would be good if mods could dedicate an entire Subject for commercial sellers. That would also rule out the nonsense of commercial sellers creeping into non-relevant topics and causing distraction through offers of commercial products in topics meant for discussion only. I would like to cite an example. I spent the entire night searching for some accessories on the net, especially at pakwheels. I saw a gentleman offering some items ... and then I saw that he had posted at not less than 20 places for the same products within pakwheels. Although I was interested in two of his products, but I got very bored with his behaviour and decided not to contact him.

5. Although it goes beyond the scope of a discussion forum, may I request the mods/ admns to take a look at PakGuns.com - The Front Page The forum has gun enthusiasts, and they have contacted certain shops with the understanding that they would provide discounts to forum members. I was interested in a certain gun .. it was expensive .. but one of the senior members in that forum helped me buy it at about 40% discount. PakWheels is a much bigger forum than the one I mentioned. There are a lot more car enthusiasts than gun enthusiasts.

The vehicle enthusiasts in big cities like Karachi and Lahore are lucky that they have wide choice of options available for customizing their vehicles. However, in cities like Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the choice is very limited. I really would like to see some place like the 3S workshop in Lahore opening in Islamabad as well. Again, this is a discussion forum, so perhaps this is too much wishful thinking on my part ... but perhaps you guys could think of opening similar kind of workshop taking care of PakWheels members.

I hope my writing is not boring !!!

Yesterday, I went to Rawalpindi and met three PakWheels members. They are helping me in some modifications for my car. One of them spends whole of his sundays in helping out friends in car audio stuff. I suggested to him to start a career in this field. I wonder, if some other PakWheels members may be interested in helping out other members (on payment basis). The DIY channel is there, but perhaps the admns and mods could think of implementing this possibility.

Thank you once again for bringing car enthusiasts together in this forum and making it a wonderful and useful experience.

I think they are doing their job well ... as I can see, the mods monitor each and every active thread .. but making structural changes is beyond their area of jurisdiction.

Let me share my experience of online shopping today ...

I visited Wholesale - Buy Products Online from China Wholesalers at Aliexpress.com which is a subsidiary of Manufacturers, Suppliers, Exporters & Importers from the world's largest online B2B marketplace-Alibaba.com ... they are primarily suppliers of Chinese products.

The item that I selected had a price of US$ 160 ... with payment options as paypal, credit card, bank transfer, etc.

I have a credit card but I dont want to use my credit card number on the internet, so I looked at other options.... I checked with western union ... they suggested I should go to Money Gram ... Money Gram was ready to transfer this amount to Singapore with service charges of Rs. 850. However, western union and money gram can transfer funds to individual persons and not company accounts. Besides, I read internet reviews on payment options which were against payment for internet shopping through western union or money gram .. primarily because there is no assurance against fraud.

I checked with a money changer in Blue Area, who agreed to send the money through telegraphic transfer with charges of Rs. 4000.

I checked with Standard Chartered Bank .. they quoted charges of Rs. 2500 while MCB declined to remit the amount.

Paypal does not deal with Pakistani customers ...

Here in this scenario, I think a big forum like PakWheels can take initiative and get into online shopping business. Lets see when our postings get the attention of administrators ...

Yes, you are right ... I have noticed that too ...

Recently when there was an accident in Bahria Town (Celica Supra), a wide range of opinions came from different members, and since I was there all the time, I saw them deleting very good remarks. This is a discussion forum, and everybody can have a different opinion ... however, filthy language and abusive remarks should not be tolerated on a decent forum like PakWheels

We all agree on the search feature being lousy. Rest assured that it is in the knowledge of Dev Team and they'll be fixing/optimizing it soon IA.

Members write what they feel - yes at times it isn't understandable, but not all of us are at first name basis with English language (and there is nothing wrong with it). Thread titles are corrected if they're found too confusing, misleading, or out of context. However making each new thread go through scrutiny heavily slows down the process.

Commercial selling is a paid feature at PW. If you see anyone behaving the way you mentioned, kindly report the message and it will be dealt with. Commercial sellers are advised to contact the administration for tariff details.

The discount matter and the online selling portal come under business development and are beyond the scope of MODS. The website owners have to decide if they want to explore those horizons or not. However since the suggestion has been put, I'm sure it will be heard.

Please keep in mind that MODS err. And they are also penalized for their errors. Grave errors lead to suspension of moderation rights for good.

There are quite a few moderators on this forum. And it is hard to get away with a mod-act which is based on personal grudges without raising a few eyebrows.
