Can you guys please get ":S" smile changed? Somehow it looks rude whereas it should convey the message that someone is confused. However the current smile gives the message, "yeah whatever!". :S

we MUST have to specify a minimum 4 character word for searching, not less than this which means that we cannot specify keywords like BMW, BYD, Vti etc.. this sometimes bugs me a lot

Absolutely. Bugs me too.

But while it is being fixed, you can use Google for quicker search.

Simply type "BYD Pakwheels.com" (without the inverted commas) and you'll be presented with very accurate results.

Search on Pakwheels is somewhat lame - or is it just me? Its easier to get things out of Pakwheels via google.

Actually no, using google to search stuff on any website mostly yields far more accurate results than using the sites own search.

This is due to google's stronger algorithm which operates with worms rather than keywords.

So despite PW trying to make its search function better, it will probably never be as good as google. It definitely will be convenient having a search options on the webpage you are viewing, but that's about it.

This is a restriction placed in VB system. The search in VB indexes all keywords in order to provide fast results. To keep this search function fast, we have to limit the length of the words that are indexed; this length is set at 4. Lowering it to 3 would significantly slow the search function and will also increase server resource consumption to point where it will deteriorate PW browsing and interaction to unsatisfactory levels.

Since there is no plan to lower the word length below 4; using Google's advanced search would be a great alternative. They have literally unlimited resources and do index most if not all of PW data.
