Thanks bro. I will visit and see if they are good. Does this test need GA ?
Thanks, I have been there for eye inspection of my son. But they are good for armed personnel and if you have some sifarish. I observed that for private OPD they are as good as government hospitals
well my experience is entirely different...my mother was really satisfied...later she admitted in oncology department (CMH lahore) and they took extra care of her..especially the doctor brig. naeem naqi(Allah unko khush rakhay) ...it is unforgetable experience for us..unfortunately she didn't survive but as far as the doctor and staff behaviour and treatment is concerned it was outstanding.. P.S we were civilians and had no sifarish in armed forces
That's good that you were satisfied but yes they take care of admitted patients well but my experience was about opd which wasn't good.
@elxlr uzeemujeeb @tintin1 Hi,Can anyone guide about kidney transplant. Doctor has advised kidney transplant to a close relative and he is a middle class person. Any info regarding low cost or free transplant hospitals in Rawalpindi / Islamabad / Lahore or Karachi will be appreciated. Also is there any option of avoiding transplant and stop CKD stage at current position or reverse it? I heard its possible in homeopathy and herbal. What is the approx monthly/yearly cost of immuno-suppressants.
Thanks.
@tintin1 bro, Thanks for replying...
Yes the patient is suffering from diabetes and high BP and entered in CKD 4 stage that is why doc advised transplant.I will get ultrasound images along with any other reports I can get and post here.
Please ask him to listen to his doctor. CKD4 is advanced kidney disease that will/could require acute (eg dialysis) and/or longterm (eg transplant) treatment options. The decisions to be made are complex and internet advice will be very inadequate and could even be misleading or dangerous.
SIUT...sindh institute of urology and transplantation founded by Dr. adeeb rizvi in karachi... the best one for the kidney disease.... All services provided by SIUT, including dialysis and transplantation, are free of cost...as far as the homeopathic medicine is concerned @japu is absolutely right...time is very important factor for dialysis patient...homeopathic medicine is just a wastage of time which can be very dangerous....i have lost my brother in law by using these totkas and the homeo medicine from various homeo doctors... kindly shift the patient to karachi ASAP....and i repeat again don't go for the homeopathic medicine..
WHats his creatinine level and some nuclear scans of body to know GFR and state of kidneys. DMSA SCAN AND DTPA scan.
Avoid high potassium foods, and greens etc and renal toxic drugs.
Transplant is a very long process.
CKDA person with stage 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) has advanced kidney damage with a severe decrease in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) to 15-30 ml/min. It is likely someone with stage 4 CKD will need dialysis or a kidney transplant in the near future.Agree that transplant option should be chosen very carefully when all other options do not work. I have also heard people recovering with homeo and herbal remedies.I have sent my whatsapp number in pm.
Thanks
Thanks brother. Yes agree with you that this condition requires quick action and that is why I asked in this group so as to get advice regarding good places for transplant. His condition was stabilizing and GFR was getting better after using that doctor's medicines for a couple of months but then in last results it started worsening again and doc straight away asked to go for transplant.
Any good places you can suggest for transplant... free or low cost with good treatment options will be welcomed.
Thanks brother for suggesting SIUT. I will definitely relay this information to the patient.I have heard these free hospitals go by numbering plan and it takes lot of days or even months before a patient's turn comes. Is it true?
Thanks brother. Yes its saddening condition. I am going to relay the SIUT related info shared by respected members here to the patient. Patient age is around 50 and he might be able to have a donor relative who is ready to donate kidney. The other worrying factor is strict life long immunosuppressents usage and cost.
Thanks brother. I have asked them to share GFR and scan results and I will share here as soon as I get them.Yes he is on strict diet even water/liquid intake has been limited by doctor to specific number of ounces per day.Can you please elaborate about the long process of transplant as I heard it takes up to 1 week in hospital and 1 month in max recovery.
Thanks all respected members for their valuable feedback and suggestions. Always found this platform very helpful and informative.
Someone was saying that there is restriction of donor age should not be above 50.....is it true or a hoax?
Can a person having kidney stones (5-9 mm) donate kidney?
sir it is not a typical govt hospital because the personality who is running this state of the art hospital dr adeeb rizvi is really a farishta..... once you ll visit the hospital you ll feel the difference....i have met 2 patients who got treatment from there and they were satisfied completely....i don't think it ll take months or weeks for the appointment...anyways shift the patient ASAP as there is no other option except this(in my humble opinion)
