Well clenil has salbutamol and beclomethasone. Beclomethasone is a corticosteroid therefore will reduce the symptoms more than ventolin which is plain salbutamol. But corticosteroids take longer to work therefore always combined with salbutamol or similar agents. So in my opinion always start with ventolin if it doesnot improves move to clenil.

Now these attacks are not normal, yes may be related to allergies or some other cause like a recent respiratory infection. I haven't came across anything till now that suggests that children's airways expand as they get older, so that is totally wrong.

How to diagnose, well get a pulmonary function test done simple plain accurate test to diagnose asthma. A more accurate test is methacoline challenge test but rarely used as it requires a lot of expertise and good facilities. A CBC may also be able to tell you by doing differential counts showing increased number of eosinophils or another test is doing a IgE levels which may be increased.

The symptoms you are telling currently I am tilting towards a respiratory infection. You can use these drugs when your child has difficulty breathing but its only a symptomatic treatment because if its an infection then that is the cause and that must be treated. So does he have fever, sore throat, cough, two signs you already told decreased appetite and difficulty breathing.

The lost epitite symptom has gone now as he did heavy eating yesternight and then slept. due to which he was feeling bloated. Now he is eating well. No sore throat and cough is not much and only little cough at random times. So for tonight should I give him clenia C & ventoline ? as I saw his 2 ex physicians doing same in case of symptoms.

so clenial C and ventoline 3 times a day. also can I use ventoline syrup along with this setup? thanks

(Also doc asked him to stay away from pets but he was playing with chicks on our latest visit to our city and when coming back yesterday there were threshers working so lots of dust near motorway :()

Yes and these types of docs are hard to fine. Thats why I am missing my son's child specialist. His assessment was to the point and didn't tried to just fool around. He also used to gave a brief lecture of whats going on.

As he is moving abroad so I will have to search some good doc again... but thanks to this thread and docs here, this thread is fulfilling almost same need.

As Glioblastoma has mentioned Clenil C contains both steroid and salbutamol so no need to give salbutamol separately. Only clenil c will be enough.
Ventoline syrup is not a very good medicine as it has side effects. You can use syp acefyl.
The symptoms are suggestive of Allergic Asthma But the best thing would be to get your child checked up by a specialist.

But as far as I think you said you are nebulizing with ventolin there is no need to combine ventolin with clenil. You can increase quantity of clenil in the nebulizing solution but by very little when you make it. You can give clenil three times. Also I am not a big fan of syp acefyl, its from a family of methylxanthines a compound found in tea to be specific theophylline, again theophylline has side effects. So need for any syrups in my opinion.

Please do get a pulmonary function test done. Please show your child to a good chest specialist as well. We have a brilliant drug for allergic asthma but quite expensive and last resort treatment if all else fails, xolair(omalizumab). Your child doesn't require it but thought that I should share it.

Hey docs... can you tell the difference b/w Clenial C and Clenial A and Ventolin solution?

My son has allery problem even by some docs its diagnosed as childhood asthma but I don't believe... One reasonable child specialist told that its related to childhood and will go away as soon as child turns 12-13 of age as at the age of 7-8 children's wind pipes are narrow.

So to cut short my son was hospitalized 2 years ago for 2 days due to sever allergy attack and was given infusion drips and nablized with clenial and ventoline etc... Today I again felt symptoms of unusual breathing (like jerks in chest and fast breathing) and got him nablized with Clenial C 1ml+NS 2ml. in late night will nablize him with ventoline 0.5m+NS.

I would like to ask if its ok to treat him with these or I should visit the same child specialist for further advise? He is also not feeling hungry.

In lahore there is Prof Zafar Hussain in surgimed hospital and Prof Saqib saeed at Ammar medical complex jail road. They both are good chest physicians.

De-Tuz cough syp 1+1+1

Frankly speaking he has given too many oral medicines (syrups) for my liking.
Obviously I haven't seen your kid so cannot comment on his condition and it's severity. Nebulization and myteka is ok and it is recommended but I am not too sure about the other medicines.

I got him checked just to make sure his condition is not that sever which needs infusion or hospitalized. So I was giving him acefyl cough with nabulizing. I like the syp which thins out the mucus -- britanyl

Inhaler should be handy ( in ur car, wifes purse)as it can be used immediately and does not need electricity or an apparatus. Continue with mytika but educate ur kid how to use an inhaler. Does he have difficulty in breathing when he plays, runs about for a few minutes??......
