I do not think there is anything to look for. The pain he is having is because the current damages muscle cells hence there is pain. Not to drink water after shock is ridiculous. You must drink more water because muscle cells damaged by electric current release their protein myoglobin. This protein although not harmful but in large quantities can block the kidney tubules hence causing renal failure but this happens in high voltage injuries. So to prevent this IV fluids are given in high voltage injuries so myoglobin doesn't blocks the kidney tubules and is cleared out constantly.

So drink more fluids. There are tests that can be done a list of it, do not think they are required but if you want you can do them for patient satisfaction ECG, CBC, BUN and Creatinine, CPK levels, Electrolytes(sodium, potassium, calcium), urinalysis. Left Eye: -2.25(sphere), -2.25(cylinder), 165(axis)
Right Eye: -1.50(sphere), -3.00(cylinder), 40(axis)

Q1. How bad is my eyesight?

i got free from a major challange that had pushed me to my limits, i had been thinking that my stomach was disturbed due to stress (to some extent it was). but it still isn't good enough now, i get constipation with mild diarrhea , too much gas (which often takes a while before it gets released), immediately after meals i sometimes burp and can feel acid in my throat.

i did some searching and i feel that my stomach may not be sufficiently acidic. Now i want to properly treat this, might this issue be related with my cholinergic urticaria?

I use to drink icey water during my moening workout. Some seniors their advice me not to use cold water as it will not good . I have learned on net otherway. Please advice me is there any adverse or good effect of drinking cold water during workout .

Last day i wa: reading an article some where on flip-board which states that cold water is like slow poison to human being. Water should b warmed before drinking or atleast it shouldn't be cold either!

Dear doc, here I am again seeking your expert opinion. You might remember my 4.5 year old son which is being treated for ADHD + Mild Autism. He was also being given half tablet of melatonin 3mg.

Today morning when everyone was sleeping he woke up, grabbed the bag and took out melatonin and ate 8-10 tablets.. then his grand mother suddenly saw and told everyone so I rushed to general hospital where they washed his stomach with 1000ml saline and then given 300ml IV drip.
Then we took him home after doctor said he is 70% fine now as stomach is washed and iv given. He advised not to let him sleep but when I told him that the boy slept @ 12 midnight and woke up 3 am... then he said ok then you can let him sleep but keep an eye on his hearbeat if fast then get him checked again... He is sleeping now.

So looking for your sincere advise of what to do further. Is there still any danger exist. Doc also gave him Gaviscon liquid syp 1+1+1 tsp.

Well if it was 1hr. since he took the tablet to washing his stomach then it removes only 50% and if 2hrs. it only removes 15% of tablets so this is pretty useless but still common in ER's in pakistan. As far as the management is concerned IV drips and everything even if this was my case I will even not know what to do as this is so rare. The thing to do so far as I have read is do NOTHING.

Not to worry. Sleeping is only prevented in patients with head injuries and those with benzodiazepines or barbiturate overdose as it can cause respiratory depression. But as melatonin cannot cause respiratory depression so it is not that dangerous. Obviously he will be drowsy for some days, other than that nothing to fear. The only problem to look is seizures(fits) if he is having one take to emergency asap. Some literature to read and to relax you:

Exercise thats it. There are many supplements please refrain from using any of them. You can use green tea and grape fruit. You live in Oslo it is a cold place your metabolism will already be higher than those living in warmer climates.

All myths. Do not worry. Icey cold if you can tolerate it, is okay but better if it is not that icey cold like from a water dispenser. Problem is in our community people try to impose on you their life experiences obviously not everyone will be able to tolerate icey cold water and hence will get ill like a flu, this does not mean you will get ill too if it is working for you no worries.

Thank you so much sir... We took him to emergency right after we saw him eating tablets. We also cleaned his mouth with cloth and removed the meshed tablets from his mouth too... so in 15-20 minutes after eating tablets he was being stomach washed. So doctor said 70% of stomach is clear now.

After bringing him home and since yesterday we haven't noticed any fits or unusual thing with him... Yes he was drowsy while stomach being washed but after that he was quite active and kept playing for 3-4 hours and then we let him sleep as he was awake in night.

Thanks for the helpful links. I am reading them all now. and yes you 100% right about keeping medicines away from children even these tablets were in my wife's handbag and he opened it. He is now able to bring some chair or alike and climb up to reach on heights so I am no planning to get a first aid box and keep medicines in it and lock it.

Bro keep such medicine away from children. If you suspect him to repeat it then use sugar tablets that has no active substance.. But them being inert kid will take other meds assuming that they do nothing.

He might be hungry at that time?

Sorry to disagree but on the contrary most medications used to treat adhd or add are available in pakistan. Those not available are only three clonidine, guanfacine and amphetamines.

Majority of adhd or add patients are controlled on atomoxetine or methylphenidate. For aggressiveness antipsychotics or other drugs can be used. If patient is doing fine on particular drugs no need to change them. Children are children they will do these sort of things now and then this does not mean instantaneously change drugs. Drug effects vary from person to person. Personally do not think jumex is mild if you know the mechanism of action and the precautions needed while using it.
