no it was not complicated i guess.
wound is better now (Still reddish though) but eye has developed granuloma
I went to another doctor for checkup of mucus and some red flesh that was present in my eye exterior side (toward ear). he said that non absorbable stitch used in surgery has cause a stitch granuloma, which is the cause bacterial infection, hence increased mucus buildup. treatment would be removing of that stitch but it will again cause exotropia to greater extent than it used to be. add drop of 4 drops of tobradex and vigamox for time being and get in touch with your oculoplasty surgeon.
I used tobradex again ( I was given this for 1.5month post surgery) for 1 day and most of eye rednesh decreased except for that granuloma.
and then went to see my doctor who did surgery, he said nothing to worry about. Granuloma will go with time, for mucus use rocip ointment at night. I m using that ointment and improved the condition as eyes are not sticky but still mucus production has not decreased to normal range as my other eye.
but when I searched on internet, i found granuloma post strabismus surgery can be treated only through surgery or topical steroid which my surgeon told me not to use when I told him another doc recommended this. He said its not needed. I am confused!
these are pre-op reports
