While reading the review, I am really impressed by the customer service of Ravi guys... It means they actually care for the customer & give worth to the suggestions unlike other local manufacturers e.g.Toyota, Honda, Suzuki..... Hats off to their dedication & spirit.

I am planning to buy Storm but still I am not sure if I should go for it or I should wait for another couple of months. Moreover I am worried about faults in it as many friends pointed out here in this forum

I have to say that masha ALLAH he is one of the true riders... had his headlight on in the daytime.... now thats a tough thing to do coz everybody keeps telling you that ur headlight is on...... anyways...

We were warmly received by Mr. Umer Khayyam who heads the Quality and Mr. Nauman who is the manager of production and assembly. We were taken to the training room that had a tiny door to it. There were three Piaggios and a Moped parked there along with a couple of 70cc Ravi bikes. The Vespa Moped was a 125cc and looked very nice. It was an automatic stylish looking scooter with a digital watch in the speedometer.

Apologies for the absence. So the rest of the story....
Me and SMARTDEVIL had a very good experience with the fuel average of the bike, both of us had seen it doing 65kms in ONE litre. However, seenforu and umer009 had a different story to tell. Their bikes were only doing 40kms to a litre. When this question was put up to the gentlemen, Nauman told us that in one shipment of about 300 bikes, the the jet of the carburator was faulty and after it was fitted, there was an issue of backfire and poor average. A chinese representative of Piaggio China was called and he stayed in the factor for a week but was unable to UNDERSTAND the issue. Then another 6 or 7 members team came from China after Ravi sent two of their guys to China. That team understood the issue and those jets were then replaced.
Now Im not sure if some other shipment alos has some sort of faulty carbs which were not caught and are giving low fuel average.

After some hands on experience by a fellow rider from PakistanBikersClub I can now say for sure that poor milage can be improved by replacing the Jets in the Carb for better performance or milage.
people have been found geting the entire carb or the jets replaced with those of a Honda.
but cant vouch about their success.

bro tell us something about the new shape of bike any idea ??? and you told us about the faulty carbs, so if some one is not getting proper average than can they claim it for replacement???
You know i was sitting at the Ravi piaggio dealers shop in rawalpindi and a person came shouting, well later i come to know that his bike was doing only 28kmpl , well isnt that really pathetic rather than being funny????

YES get it replaced in Waranty as i did.
althow my bike gave a black smoke of unburnt fuel for which my mechanic said its the carb that needs to be replaced and I got it changed in waranty.
my bike did round 40 to 43 with the previous carb and now its a sniffer

CHERY I'm a huge phanka of Piaggio and I die for it .... As I'm going to buy piaggio so would u suggest me to wait and for how much period I've to wait ... I really want to see you and ur piaggio rides

check if RAVI would continue this lineup of Italian bikes or not as they are surely short on SPARE parts for 3 months now :(:-!

Salamzzz all its been such a long time since i visited pakwheels and nice to see the work done by all 3 guyz who visited the ravi facility n appreciate it. I wish i could come too coz i m also one of the Storm 125's owner for abt 1 year now and facing same issues specially the Milage hardly gives me 30 in a liter if i ride it around 80 if i go above it gives me even less than 30 i took my bike to the antenna shop dozens of time but the only way i get 48 KMPL if i ride the bike at 30 or 40 KMPH and i m facing the issue from the start now i dont even have warranty it expired last month i ev done 11000 KM so i dont know what to do i ev talk to Mr rizwan and Mr Mahmood as well and i ev seen quite a few ppl on the antenna shop having the same issue but nothing can be done here coz we dont have any1 here in Rwp,Isb who can actually listen or admit that our bikes have some fault or what is the reason that we are not getting the correct milage. i know nothing is goin to happen but i just want you guyz to know there are a lot of things that needs to be streamlined. So if some1 can help in this matter i would really appreciate it. Thanks

i bought a ravi piaggio 1 week ago.... the machenical moving parts seem to b working fine but it seems a child assembled the electrical system

when i press the brake the parking light and the meter light comes on along with the rear light...i dont know if it is the brake light or the parking light in the rear that comes on
once the bike suddenly decided that it is not going to start with the self later it got into a better mood

the fuel gauge does not work

it seems to me that the electrical system is setting in and making less trouble as the time passes

the first time the head light was not working ... the next day it came on.... and is working eve since

i am willing to drive to the factory if i can get theses problems fixed .... IF they have the facility there ....IF they just dont put the bikes together blindfolded and send them to the market

The factory definetly has the setup but they do not entertain complaints just like that.
as your bike is in waranty go to your dealer and ask him to arrange a complete electrical checkup and file a waranty claim if something needs to be replaced.
if your dealre does not have the appropriate settup then he should make arrangements for you to visit the factory for the same !

Most everyday parts are available from Mcleod Rd. I did not have to go to anyother place for parts. For service I used to go to Malik autos on Raiwind Rd. Some parts ARE hard to find. For example the little rubber parts but overall the availability is not too bad.

try some decent aftermarket carb for economy or try to overhaul the carb by installing new set of jets

About the Carb availability, it is easily available in the market for Rs. 1800 and according to them, it works very well.

maybe there would be someother bike whose thingies could be installed in it,,
if in economy speed it is not giving specified economy then the pilot jet,pilot jet screw(externally mounted screw also called mixture screw) and needle could be the problem,, as mechanic if some other bikes elemts are compatible,,? there are a lot of bkes whose parts may interchange,

Bro its definetly not the pilot Jet the one we prefer calling mixture screw

and yes the honda parts have been reported as good replacements.

For some reason, I've noticed that the wires have little cut marks on the insulation. That results in hiccups in the performance and increases the risk of shortcircuiting. Also most of the Chinese bikes have low quality wiring.

Bro if you recall when we went to the factory my head light and all the indicators and rest of the electricals had gone dead and i had to give the bike a rolling start !
it was also because of the numerous cuts on the wiring of this bike.

@ Chery1 thanks for the info bro and i would say they should replace all the faulty carbs as i once have get my bike tuned in front of Mr Rizwan he was just visiting the Antenna shop and he asked the mechanic to open the carb completely and clean it properly he did but doesnt make much of a diff only 2 or 3 Km's. so bro do let me know if u hear any updates frm Ravi ppl regarding this issue. asjdsm is right about the 100ml method
first of all all users should agree on a common average taking method
one method is reserve to reserve which is although accurate but not so precise
but if u want 100 % precision than go with 100 ml method
after that those users who claims their average is 65 km/liter should get their bike checked with this method for correct average and if their average do come which they claim then im also among the one who got the faulty carbeurator coz max i got is 42-43 frm this bike
also it seems too much unrealistic for a 125 to give 65km/l . a chance could be tht they might have faulty speedometer so it shud also be tested before taking average

Yes bro got it changed in WARANTY !
becouse from the first day my bike gave a black smoke as of unburnt fuel for which my mechanic said its the carb that needs to be replaced and I got it changed in waranty.

Salam, every one. There is no ravi piaggio 125 in market as they have received an order of 400 bikes from PAK ARMY......new supply is expected by next month.....and new model now will be launched in 2012.
