your car may be an exeption.
i was a personal victim to this in 2003.
however as a nation we try to legitimise things by our own brilliant thought process. I once had to deal with a peron who was selling a dinky with very low mileage and when i found out that the meter was reversed i complained to him about this. and you know what he told me in return.
" sir jee gari ki achi condition bhee to match karnee tha meter key sath"
