Does anyone know the name of the other car in the mausoleum display? Now thats even more interesting; a white convertible Packard 4 door. Jinnah was a car buff, and owned many high quality cars in his lifetime.

The newspaper cutting shows Jinnah and Mountbatten driving to the assembly building in Karachi, August 1947 (I believe), in the loaned Rolls Royce of the Nawab of Bahawalpur. This car, alongwith the entire auto collection of the Nawab then spent 30 years in a locked garage, and was only recently auctioned by the Pakistan Govt. It was acquired by a Karachi based collector, and was seen at the Feb 2007 vintage car show held outside the Forum in Karachi. Photos on some Pakwheel link, as well as www.vcccp.com.

The Rolls Royce in the picture is owned by Karim who has painstakingly restored the car taking care to keep it absolutely as original as possible. This is karim's first vintage car and I must give him credit for not spoiling the car while restoring it and also for maintaining it so well. Here is a recent picture taken at Governors House.

Quaid's car is a 1947 Cadillac Series 75 Limousine.......not 100% sure but thats what I think it is.

Hi Rusty,
the white car in the Quaid Museum IS a Packard, however if you are referring to the white (light grey actually) car on this page, thats a 1920s vintage Rolls Royce. Mohsin has posted info on it. The car at one time belonged to the Nawab of Bahawalpur and is now in the collection of an enthusiast from Karachi.
Hope you enjoyed the pics. Nice to see younger people displaying an interest in older stuff. There is more to life than NOS Civics and Nissan Skylines!
DO post pictures of any older classics you come across. Everyone in the auto community gains from your input.
