Merely an interesting economic fact about the Haj.

What every money is spent in KSA during HAJ by the haj's is mostly the living expenses etc. Saying it as profits is just misleading. KSA government does not charge Visa fee even and it is not mandatory for haj's to travel on Some saudi airlines, traval and majority of other things are subsidised aswell, hotels waggara are not used during haj. Its same as tourism, good for economic growth....

That quote is directly from the Economist, a well-respected newspaper. Of course, one can indeed analyze the Haj as a form of religious tourism, the same as many other similar large gatherings around the world.

And plz dont call HAJI SAB. I dont like to be called haji. Stricted restricted my family and friends to call me haji. It was a mandatory duty and for Allah only.

If u offer namaz or pay zakat or fasts, can i call u namazi sb, roza sb or zakati sb???
I think attaching word haji or al-haaj with ur name opens the door of RAYA KAARI.

Who owns the Economist every body knows very well. HAJJ is subsidized just look at its scale.
