@mamehmood:
a. with fuel injected system there won't be much fuel consumption difference between 150cc and 200cc
b. The only 3S supported bike more than 125cc is GS150, and as you see the price difference between GS125 and GS150 I can bet very few GS125 would have been sold because not much advantage compared to CG125 in the 125cc category
c. All the bikes in Pakistan look the same, Storm-125 is going to be the only distinct looking bike to the common eye.
d. A couple of less HP would not hurt but a week braking system can. The Pulsar has very strong braking where new owners have to learn to use them carefully.
e. The speed limits in Pakistan vary from 45 kmph to 120 kmph, but no legal place to ride above 100 kmph (bikes not allowed on the motorway) You do not want your official product to become another Kawasaki GTO175 which was at one time got banned in Karachi when the police bikes could not chase it.
f. Yamaha has a YZF-R125 and Honda has a CBR125 so you see that there is much to be done even in the 125cc category, Storm is not the limit but only a good start.
A technical and marketing guy should go to a EU country or India or at least China and ride a few advanced bikes from 100cc to 250cc pay attention to the specs, specially power, torque, brakes, controls, dash, lights, etc. Then conduct a survey through these survey organizations. Chose a couple of products and import a similar product and take them to Dawn's Lifestyle exhibition you will get a good idea which one will sell and how many for how much.
