well after a long break i finally manged to head down to pindi and make some payments on my car so the work can continue. floor is done fenders (front) are almost done, rears are new, body is back on the car....

I cant wait to see this thing roll on its wheels.....I should look stunner as storm is putting so much of effort and money on it....
I think the work is going on at very slow pace anyways we know sameer bhai is busy with his other projects aswell not forget he is on a roll with his aunty magnet SURF.........

thanks buddy, main reason it slowed down was that i sold my defender and didn't have a car i could take to the area in which it was being built, and that it is toooooo hot here. hopefully it'll go full steam ahead from here.

Good going! Any idea on the final engine spec? How about this;

1. Scat Volkstroker III 69 mm crank
2. Mahle/CIMA 90.5 x 69 mm Piston / cylinder kit.
3. Scat Hi-Rev Camshaft kit (your choice of grind)
4. CB Performance 044 Super Mag CNC Round Port Heads
5. Dual 44mm Weber IDF kit (The most expensive bit in this whole build or get used Webers or Dell'ortos and rebuild them).
6. Bosch 009 dizzy
7. CB Performance High-Performance 26 mm oil pump.
8. Stage 2 200mm Kennedy clutch

Still, this is fictional stuff :p. Can't wait to see what you really put in your beast!

that is an impressive list, it could be done but it'd involve alot of trips abroad. right now it'll just have it's simple 1300 refit till i can source another VAG engine.... more when it gets closer to completion.

no date for sure yet, expect around 7-8 months to get he body rebuilt and painted at least as i'm not rushing the work or the workers will get bored of it. if i let them take their time they'll do a better job and take pride in their work.

it'll be worth the wait once it is 100% complete (around 1.5 - 2 years from now)

that is an early model type1, (see headlights) i planned a chop top earlier but doing that to a real 1303 would be like fitting a 2C in an original 560SEC,...

you may be a little young to remember, but there are more "real" herbie movies (like the lovebug), only reason anyone would watch "fully loaded" is to oogle lindsey lohan. still the model of VW used for herbie is NOT a 1303, it's a pre 68 ragtop so can't take much from that.

If I remember rite the 66 was a bone stock resto, even the paint was close to or a match with an original VW shade. How was it inspired by Herbie???
