***Rebuilding my VW type 182 Thing***

Why not remove the iron crosses and put the Afrika Corps sticker would look nice, this is a great project wish u all the luck.

i had toyed with the idea a few times but decided to go for the iron cross in the end. today i took them off the car so she now looks stock,... oh, and i fit the hubcaps and got a few more mechanical issues sorted out.

needless to say,.. she's flying again!

Work done yesterday at khalids:

tranmission fluid changed
brakes adjusted (at drum)
brakes adjusted (at handbrake)
Brakes adjusted (at pedal/rod)
Rear bearings opened, checked, greased etc.
Hubcap clips installed
hubcaps fit
timing changed to 5 degrees advance
carb set
oil breather pipe installed
axles inspected

later i brought the car back to VWHQ and greased EVERYTHING!!

Nana Ustaad worked hard to give the exhaust the OEM fit & finish.

Look who turned up at the fire brigade today,.. the devil himself!!

BTW i noticed the rear bumper was crooked and the silencer was fit into a crooked bumper,.. so that involves straightening both now.

Glad you're enjoying buddy. Today I got the exhaust AND bumper fixed so she doesn't look crooked from behind anymore.

I'm still worried about the steering box as I'm still a little freaked out by what happened when it managed to loosen itself from the beam.

Anyhow, I've done what I can. Time for a run on the motorway to find more faults....

Today the thing proved its worth, first by carrying all sorts if things to & from khalids workshop while getting nasirs cabrio on the road and then by carrying 6 VCCCP members through ISB.

Sadly we didn't make the kallar kahar run as it took longer than expected to get nasirs cabrio on the road.

I also swapped out the front indicator lenses & covers today with some hella original ones & fit my 1 Cibie driving light...

All VWs built on type.1 chassis' are decendants of the mercedes 170h,... Which are pre-hitler.

Also all that idiot did was fund the kdf program, nor build the car.
