It's funny that you mentino the fantastic 4, i used to love the comic and now i've got a silver surf (with a "4" registration on it, LOL!) and now i've got a thing,... maybe i could theme this build and paint it to look like ben grim.

only problem is that i have already got one orange VW .. this one is almost definitely going to be gun metal grey but i WAS tempted to paint it the same colour as my 1303 for a but,... was thinking about making it my signature colour for all of my project cars.

LOL @ Broke. Yeah true point though, labour is well cheap in pakistan compared to here. The amount of work you did on your Beetle, it will be over 3,000 pounds in labour here. Only full spray job costs around 900 pounds (a good spray job). Hope this works out too.

no doubt, i recall when i got my 1st VR6's fenders widened, it cost me almost 1000 pounds for minor work and a respray, but the end results were phenomenal.

only thing is usually i'm willing to pay more if the job is good,... sadly in ISB only mitsubishi in I-9, shahnawaz and Honda (murree road) have decent paint booths. But lets see who gets to do this one when the time comes. I'm still furious with the job on my 1303.

Yeah that's true that not many people have professional spray booths in pakistan as it works out really expensive (especially the recuring bills of gas etc for baking the car) but I have to say, dispite spray booths, some people do a really nice job. I remember last time I went pakistan, my uncle was getting his car sprayed and it was all dusty area etc, I was like you're messing the car up and the paint won't last long. Tell you what, I was very surprised at the results, ie really good job. It was somewhere in RWP... Don't exactly know where.. and that car is still looking perfect..

that's because they use "2K' paint here which doesn't need any form of baking etc,.. over here EVERYONE uses 2k,.. and i want to use standox

Oh.. I see.. Here these used to use aerosole spray paints but now it's all water base (due to law changing in Jan 08) due to "polution". Now spray job is slightly expensive then what it was before Jan.

I really don't get it, this GOVT says don't use Aerosole because they cause polution, now with water base you have to bake the car long and more then usual which results if more Gas being used ie adds up to same thing.. They got some clowns who make all these global warming laws etc. They planning to increase tax on cars like Range Rover, Shogun, Q7, X5 etc to 1000 pounds a year.... I honestly don't understand this UK GOVT at all...

LOL! i don't watch much TV but i'm sure i have some idea as to what you are talking about. sorry for making this thread dramatic, not my intention. i'm instead trying to gather all the info i can on the Type 181 & 182 so that in the future if someone searches for info in the WWW they'll be directed to pakwheels.

for example if you do a google search for "superbeetle" the 5th result is always the PW thread on my superbeetle rebuild.

just trying to get some info on my AV engine in the thing and i'm surprised as to how little info there is out there on MOST VW flat 4s. it seems everyone has the same info take from the same places and honestly i have more info than these guys on my laptop so i've decided to share what i have and hopefully other members can chip in an improve the engine code list. as it'll be an excel sheet i'll have to take a screen shot and then serve it up as a jpeg soon.

this might take some time but it'll be worth it.

Well the first thing I did when I bought this "Thing Type 182" was rush to Pindi to install Seatbelts I guess I still have a pair of the orginal VW seatbelts some where (if not stolen among other bits and bobs) I'll see if I recover them they are yours !

thanks buddy, as far as i know hte headlights are the same as the beetle, but as i'm new to 181/182's i've still got alot to confirm

did you see it when it was for sale a while back or recently? now it's "hidden" till it's rebuilt,... i didn't like what happened to my 1303 (copied) so this time i'm not taking any chances.
