W.S. Yes and for sure Bro, I would recommend to switch to 5w-30, API SN / SN Plus / RC and / or ILSAC GF-5, Fully Synthetic engine oil, 100 % Genuine and Original, and from some reputed brand.

If you want best for bucks, go for Total Quartz 9000 Future series 5w-30, and change oil along with genuine Oil filter, after every 5,000 Kms.

I would suggest to go for engine flush, so as to remove even the tiniest quantity of 20w-50.

Agreed, but imported brands (with packing from abroad) and locally packed / repackaged brands are available easily, like ZIC (I am not sure about Total). Why not go for them? I personally believe that they will be much much better, and value for money than Toyota lubricants.

I am using it in my altis 1.6 , civic X , grande , gli 2009 , mark X , fielder and axio. Its a bit costly but trust me the power efficiency average you get will never get with anyother oil. And most of all engine life depends on engine oil.

Agree, I have been using Total 9000 since it became available in Pakistan. Its worth every penny.

Secondly switching to or from Mineral to Synthetic is not an issue. You are just mixing 2 oils with no side effect.

As for new cars, thinner oils are recommended. My Prius, Aqua & Mira all are maintained on Total 9000 0w-20.

Sir car has run 20000 on 20w-50

Even if your car had driven for 50K Kms, still, trust me, it would have been better and not bad at all while switching to 5w-30, IN SHA ALLAH, provided all the conditions for 5w-30 engine oil are met (as mentioned in Post No. 41)!

Well... I personally believe that synthetics / fully synthetics are the best, and best for bucks! (I am not considering premium, and extremely expensive engine oils) Then semi-synthetic, and lastly minerals. If you will be moving from mineral to synthetic, you will get best properties from your engine oil (it will not deteriorate early), and consequently, best performance, however, from synthetic to mineral, performance may get affected.

well i dont know what si the reason behind but its very common to use API SL 20w50 even toyota is recommended today they said Taglon is better which is API SN 5w-50 i think due to temperature, but i still confused because in swift pak suzuki using API SN 5w30 as per above comments Pak Suzuki providing best oils.

Avoid mixing..grades..quartz 9000 works very well and if u want more premium, get Valvoline..both are equally good, reasonably priced

I want to discuss a myth of oil interval change. Say mobile 1 5-50 has drain interval of 10,000 km and people think they are good for the next 10k... This is a myth. As per Toyota, drain interval is 6 months max.... So whichever comes first 10k or 6 months for mobil1 or quartz 9000 for 5k or 6 months.
In the end the daily running of car counts as well
