Dont go for vitz 1sz injectors in your 5a. Re-install its own stock injectors, then re-adjust the timing, actually its misfiring now, thats why you are hearing loud phataka's from the exhaust

Where are the stock injectors? that came with your newly purchased half-assembly.

These mechanics are shitheads, always get the work done under your supervision. I know an electrician in shoba bazar, he is expert in toyota 16 valve engines, I also got my car's wiring job done from him.

Hello guys ...
I have a query related to spark plug gaps.

I am using NGK G-power platinum spark plugs in my corolla & never checked their gap. I installed them as it is.

Now I have a confusion here. Some people say that you dont need to gap the platinum plugs as they are coated & came pregapped from factory at 0.4mm.

On the other hand, just saw a youtube video, in which a guy is installing same G-power plugs in same 7afe corolla & he suggested to regap them to 0.8mm or 0.032 inches because he was feeling loss in performace at that 0.4mm factory gap.

I am planning to open the spark plugs, throttle body, intake manifold cover etc for clean up as well as inspection, as I have done 32k kms on this engine.

So posting my query here to clear up the confusion & should I consider about the gap issue ?

They come pre gapped and don’t gap them just change them at 50k kms. Make sure you use correct plug for your car. Btw original plugs for this engine are normal copper Denso K16R-U. Copper ones also work perfectly for 20k kms. If you need iridium then get Denso IK16 they are good enough for 100k kms.
