What you are suggesting is intriguing enough to almost make it doable. Am sure will be able to source a similar looking clock. The issue, as you point out, will be the Lexus tachometer. There are "kits" that can be used to adapt but I imagine the reading will not be accurate.

You are correct; the tacos available in the shops locally may not give a correct reading unless you are able to get one that works with electronic ignition suitable for 8 cyl engines. BTW the picture I attached of the 6.3 dash is a med def pic that is not suitable to get you the tacho face. The clock to cannot be used as it has a glaze on the glass and partially hidden by the horn ring.

Ok, will see how I get on. Right now am trying to sort out the wood on the windscreen sorround on the Fintail and for the dashboard to sit properly around the speedometer unit!

Similar effort on the W109 that is THANKFULLY at the detailing stage which is no less than any other!!

For at least the last ten years I have wanted to own an R129 SL for the very same reason like you said that it is all that you could ever ask for in car. Do you know where I can find one for myself? I heard there are some in Khi. I have no numbers or email addresses of any potential sellers. I have a family friend who has lovingly owned one for the

They do work clean but do in too much hurry that most of times they skip too much details .... Like for my Cressida, when went to poshish wala, he put roof lining with the cloth which came with layer of foam, and he forget that there is sunroof, and put same cloth on it ... Result it got too thick in reclining area of sunroof that sunroof rejected to move, if moved it got stuck...

To answer your ques, I imagine there are both good and bad poshish walas everywhere. Most of the time they are in a hurry to do just routine stuff and hope the customer will be either easily fooled or not fussy! The sort of problem you had with your Cressida is typical of what can and does happen. I have a similar issue on another car.

Yes it's coming along albeit very slow but have been thru enuf of them to be familiar with the pattern. It's crucial to keep a balance between the pace, the quality, incentive, patience levels etc etc to get a good end results. Restoring oddball vehs is never an easy path!

As for the 129, yes, you are more likely to source one from Karachi. It maybe an idea to put a notice on Pakwheels here or on the VCCCP thread or personal message the main guys there. Your friend who has one ; you can't hold it against him for how he feels and I hope you don't find it too difficult to wish him a long life!

Thats quite an amount but you know what? In time it will appear to be a bargain. It's "only" 10 year old e-class money ! A car's worth is what the ACTUAL buyer puts on it. As an enthusiast , and this is a personal view.....I wouldn't have parted with a car like THAT for this sort of money......would regret it within the week.....but hey! That's my take and applies to me only

This blue coupe was exceptionally clean inside out. All original!
as per the owner there are only 2 of this kind in Pakistan.
