Hello again. Yes there is movement but not at the pace I would like. As you know the roof lining is done but the problem is the wood sorrounding the front screen. It got painted a terrible nondescript black in an earlier life and now also needs repairing. Have handed this and the dashboard cappings of the 109 to my old carpenter for fixing, after which the paint will be stripped and the surface given the shade that will be in keeping with the rest of the interior. Wood pieces also have to be fabricated for the inside of the door windows. This guy can't be hurried and hence the delay. The door pads are sort of ready, the prob is I need ash trays for them to maintain "originality" but being a non-smoker and given the fact the car has an engine out of a Lexus gs 300, it would be a bit of a hypocrisy !!! If I drop the ash trays, they will be ready too. The plan is to fin the roof lining, windscreen etc, them the door pads, dashboard ( the heater matrix is still needed.....) , then the carpets which are also being custom made (not using the usual carpet material). Finally the seats which are already done.
Another reason for lateness is the pre occupation with the CCOG. The "season" is on. In fact you may like to visit the CCOG thread I have recently started here on Pakwheels in the cool / classic car segment or visit :
