It was a surprise for me because I was not expecting body in such original condition.

As you have seen in the previours pages that there was an uneven gap between bonnet front lower lip and front bumper,which was rectified.You can see some marks of denting on the right side of the bonnet..

A "Farma" was made out of a steel strip to measure the exact shape of the front round edge of the bonnet..

What precautions are you taking against rust nowadys?

Next thing which came into my mind was reinforcing the fixing points of seats.

Actually there were some small stress cracks only at rear fixing points of driving seat which were welded keeping wet cloth around to aviod heating the surrounding area.

But I decided to fit heavy steel plates on all 8 fixing point of both the seats to avoid these type of cracks in future.

The car is almost painted dear,including underside,inside and outside (some panels remaining)..
We sanded all car to shiny metal (including underside and inside) and outside (pics will tell the whole story) and primed the whole car before this rainy season.

There were some raised blocks on the floor pan where bolts of the seats were fixed..

So I made "Farmas" exactly like the original pattern of the floor pan.Only to the extent of that raised portion to avoid spoiling original shape of the floor pan.

The steel sheet I chose for this purpose was 14 gauge steel sheet .It was not possible to cut this sheet nicely with the help of usual steel cutter "KATEERA" and I did not want to get it cut by welding torch.

So we took it to a steel shop where pieces of plate were cut according to our design and shape with the help of a cutter which is used to cut thick steel sheets.something like this.......

This is a very heavy manual cutter as you can see .But it was hard cutting because of our small pieces difficult to hold.You can see cutting marks on the steel plate in the cutter.

Thanks brother for appreciation.

After cutting the plates to the desired shape,I decided to do Copper weld instead of steel.Advantage is that copper spreads between two metal surfaces making a better joint (specially in this case).,also made four holes in every piece sparing half an inch from all sides.
