good good.. i will try to fix my MKII's dashboard after watching this tutorial
Going great....
Looking forward towards your islamabad Tour.... Hopefully We will see the SPIT in action....And also i am looking for Wiring Part......It will be knowledgeable for All of us.. Please post the wiring part in detail when you do the wiring.....
@ansarghani....Thanks Ansar Bhai...Not difficult job...Of course you can fix Mk2 Dash top....
@CLINTWOOD....Thanks brother.....Trying my best to join Islamabad Trip...INSHALLAH....well...we have done wiring and got a load of interesting pics...If you are interested in wiring ,we will take up this department after fixing the screen...and interior afterwards....
Salamz Brothers...we continue........Marking and cutting the material....
Some practice before pasting the material.....wood strip to distribute load equally...and brick for weight....
Applying our adhesive material......In this case Its magic depoxy glue..(clear)...
amazing work! how much longer till the car can be shown off?
@AmmanFaiz....Thanks dear....I think will be joining VCCCP group from Lahore to Islamabad on 8/9 NOV INSHALLAH...LETS SEE...
After application of adhesive...placing materials equally because it will be impossible to take it apart or move it once glue dries up...and placing our "press"...
And load (bricks) applied....
And results after 15 minutes....Quite crisp and sharp bends...a hole will be cut for ashtray.....
Now applied adhesive to the rest and sticking in place..carefully by lightly stretching and pasting..I may not forget to mention that now Adhesive used was "Baison Kit"...The purpose of using Depoxy glue and all "press thingy " was to ensure that it may not come off after receiving different weather effects over the years....
ok best of luck! hard work always pays off
Now working on the front (screen) side...if you notice...we have removed the bent parts of the previous vinyl covering to avoid extra thickness which can offer resistance in fitting afterwards....
@AmarFaiz....Thanks dear...
Now the rear edge.....driver;s side...
Sir,
your attention to detail is amazing. After the restoration is finished, it your Spitfire will be one of the best in the world. I have no doubt about my statement.
Keep up the good work. What is the status of the red one???
And again front...screen side...Notice our repair steel panel (left black patch) which we did earlier...After removing the glue....it was cleaned thoroughly before applying new glue as you can see....
@Parapilot....Nice to see you here dear....we are trying to do our best...lets see the final results...finger crossed...Red one is waiting for its turn..Its all painted (underside ,inside and above) like this blue one....most of the things are intact....engine and tranny is out which we did for paint job..will take less time/efforts..But currently all the concentrations are on the blue one....I am obliged dear for appreciation...
