I did not get the complete aircon panel actually. I only bought the three grills for the panel, which were broken (as can be seen in the pics). The grills cost me Rs. 350 a piece from Chaah Sultan in Rawalpindi.

Was the swap a bolt on fit or did it cost u any minor alterations in terms of engine mounts. I want to know if it had any kind of drilling/cutting/welding involved in it (even the slightest ones). thnx

It was bolt on. No drilling / cutting / welding was involved in the fitting process. I guess they changed one mount but that was for some precision fitting and nothing else. Some obvious changes required for going from carby to EFI were also involved, but they didn't do any damage to the body. Such changes included: air-intake, wiring, installation of ECU etc. As I have mentioned in one of my previous posts that the swap did not affect the piping of my stock air conditioning. The new compressor (which was at the same location in the new engine) simply got connected with the stock pipes. Yes, I got one pipe of the power steering fluid changed on the advice of the mechanic. I would have to admit that the mechanic did his job well. Such complicated mechanical processes depend a lot on the knowledge and expertise of the mechanics; and Alhamdulillah I got a good guy to work on my project.

Hashim Bhai, mileage of the car in city (mostly without A/C) was 11 km/l. On the motorway with speed consistently around 120k the mileage (with A/C) was 14 km/l.

Currently with 2E engine my xe is foingv7-8km/ltr. LoL

I had not checked the mileage of my 2E like this, but I also believe it's much better than that merely by looking at the fuel gauge after traveling distances. One proviso though, I'm running this engine completely on petrol while the 2E was being run both on petrol and CNG.

I hv swapped the engine in my imagination around 2-300 times by now.....just need to manage finances n couple of issues then I.A... nothing to worry about when i hv people like u and Vaqas bhai who can help and guide in swap
And LoL u swapped because of the annoying 2E sound

You got the grill replaced, but in turn you got a bad scratch of a screwdriver which a moron fitter gifted you as he tried to open it with screwdriver not good.

I don't have his number. In any case, buying from that particular guy would not necessarily do the trick. There are of others who would be having good engines. All you need to do is to take your mechanic along, get the engine checked, see if all the wiring including the fuse box is intact, and get going with Bismillah. Engine swap is always a lottery, you'll have to keep this in mind. It would involve a certain amount of risk.
