Very interesting! I just read the 10,000 word press release in almost its entirety. The initial design impressions are ok, the front and sides have a very generic look. The rear is unique but it could've done with some standard brake lights. I think the Ferrari 458 Italia looks a lot better overall, much more cohesive.
The interior is very interesting, just love the LCD displays and controls on the doors I've always been a fan of crazy ideas like that. The engine sounds promising and wouldn't have been out of place in the upcoming Lotus Esprit, I mean a V8 twin turbo motor with a flat plane crank sounds all too familiar. The technology and work gone into this car is definitely Ferrari rivaling. It's ideas like PreCog, Monocell, and brakesteer that make this car unique. The Audi RS4 style interlinked dampers are also facinating, along with the deletion of anti-roll bars. Which has me wonder if the Audi RS4 has anti-roll bars? The 7-speed dual clutch gearbox is by Graziano, which is great because they make Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Maserati transmissions.
Now I just want to know why Mike Kimberly of Lotus moved back the Lotus Esprit project? I think the car would have been very similar in shape and engine specs to the McLaren 12C. Did McLaren have a hand in the delay?
