A very comprehensive review indeed!

One thing that I noticed while driving the Civic is that the auto transmission gives a little jerk when shifting from gear 1 to 2. Also experienced this slight jerk in 2010 Accord.

Altis on the contrary is butter smooth in 1-2 shifting.

Nice and comprehensive review. I have 1.6 altis cruisetonic since six months and driven around 5000kms. I find this car a good package like u mentiond in your review ie good fuel consumption , soft suspension , excellent brakes and specially a very quite engine. Not driven civic so cannot comment but I'm sure whatever you've written is absolutely correct. One thing I would like to mention that many people say that a person who owns a 2 million car should not care for fuel economy, I think that is totally wrong fuel consumption does mattter specialy under the prevailing economic circumstances. So a little saving won't hurt I suppose in my opinion

i 100% agree with you:). 2Million is 1 time investment. but running it on patrol for next 4-5year does also matter .

In all the comparisons, Civic took higher points than Altis but the overall rating is the same. Kya yeh khulla tazaad nahi...?

Btw, the cars in comparison are 2011 and 2006 model! Civic haven't changed much in 5 years apart from a DVD system. Whereas this Altis is top of the line 2011 model.

yes. they have proper place to put jack. but it feel like after making the car Toyota engineers think Oh oh o o we have to placed the jack also. so where do we place jack. and by hit and trial they found the jack place it. today i open the jack and tight it with tool hopefully it will not give noise anymore

I have a 2007 Civic Oriel Manual. I must say i really like the feel of the car, the r18 growling at 6000rpm. Yes the civics suspension is hard, just the one draw back i feel. I have taken many trips to lahore via motorway frm isb and the first time i checked my fuel average i was shocked as to the average it gave me. The exact figures that i got were 17.685 Km/L. Average speed was from 105 to 115km/h. well in city its a totally different story, the average drops to 10-11 km/l. It hasent been tuned once in 62,000 kms. Juss regular oil and filter changes. Hasnt given me a single problem since ive had it for 4 years. The only thing replaced in the car since ive had it are all 4 brakes. Ohh and its driven on petrol. The new model civcs exhaust sounds just like a vitz exhaust, dont know what happened to the exhaust of civics after 2008 model.

14.8 km/ltr is the theoratical maximum of 8th Gen civic manual. check the Honda India website. You cannot get 17.685 km/ltr under any circumstance unless you are taking the petrol your self and running with car on over head !

You do not have to believe me but i welcome you to ride with me in my car and ill show you that it does achieve this mileage. I have tried it numerous times. What you are talking abt is probably city driving. I am talking abt highway driving.

My civic 1.8 pros didnt even crossed 13km/l driving at 110-130km/h

There should be honda vs toyota reviews not WARS, as the crap is of no use. At the end of the day, Xli continues to be the KING of the road no matter what u do. people will buy an Xli instead of a city.

In my opinion, civic has a pathetic mileage issue and needs to be hypermiled in order to save some bucks. but Altis is (H)

Altis as compared to comfort is (H) and civic is a bit harder.

However, toyota dies sooner than honda as I have experienced. I mean, Honda zyada Mazboot hai..

I was not at all hypermilling bhai jan. I have achieved close to this mileage severl times. The trunk was full and car had full five person load. I myself was amazed when i reached lahore. OK soon ill be going on a trip to mian channu via lahore. I will take pictures of filling and mileage and then again filling in the end. I am sure ill be able to convince you than. Most of the time speed on motorway was 105 km/h.

My 2007 Prosmatec once gave us 16 km/l at around the speeds of 90-110 while travelling on Multan road. So i think it all depends upon driving style and conditions.

i was busy from few day in some matters but i want to share a video with your. regarding fuel average. i get chance to drive Islamabad and back to Lahore. so i recorders video about fuel average which fluctuate with cruise control. i was able to get 16km/l on motor on way Lahore to Islamabad.
buts that the max average you can get in my opinion. video will be clear around 2min.

also want to update you about car security. a attempt to stole my Altis has made by A thief few days back. he was breaking the gate lock the drive suddenly came to garage and thief seen the driver and pointed gun toward driver, but driver run and jumped to neighbor home and call me on my cell and also made noise so thief runaway and nearby a corolla was waiting for him. we could not catch him and he runaway. called the police but as usual response from them. so i must say please use steering lock and CCTV camera and motion detector in garage . i would see please installed them. anyhow i would thanks AK47 for making me aware of these thieves.

and he was around 24-26year old guy. decent guy wearing red shirt and jeans. and this was done on 7:20AM . check how brave these thieves are! and they know exactly guard leave 7:00AM. i was in totally socked that day.
