Depends on the offset of the rims as well... vossens have negative offsets...

Its nt about the tyre profile. Ur rim is wide. U will face the same problem if u put 60 profile

In my opinion u can go upto 7 inch wide rim for comfortable ride.

Better to use 5.5- 6.5 wide rims i hv used 7 inch on my ex ride it was ok.

Nice topic and needs further information..... can anybody enlighten on an ideal offset for Honda city. And impact of positive offset, mostly from radials like vossen on city.

Two stock sizes of City 2016 Alloy wheels are:

5.5Jx15, Offset 51 mm

6Jx15, Offset 53 mm

In my humble opinion it is wise to stay close to the OEM specs. Secondly, since as you can see that this offset is positive so a negative one can never go well with ride quality and other fitment issues no matter what brand of rims you are using.

Bhai can you please see the attached pictures of those black rims and tell if the offset is positive or negative? Or I need to attach the pictures of rim without tyre and side view?

The offset is surely positive. You can compare it with the diagram in post no.22. If you want to know exactly how much is it, look inside of the wheel. But if the offset is not written there you can measure it yourself. On youtube a number of videos are available.

Thanks for the picture reference Bhai. Appreciate it. I guess rim's width is the main issue rather then offset. 7J rims are not good fit in any way for Honda City. 6.5J maximum or 6J is the ideal size as mentioned by @UAHMAD.

8j is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think even the Accord or Mark X have such wide rims. The stock size is 5.5j and you'll be better off getting a rim in that size.

I am using 6.5' inch alloy rims and 185/65/15 tires ... its the best size and never face any problem of hitting rear wheels to fender.
