Faisalabad - Pindi Bhatian exit up ahead.
Approaching the Faisalabad - Pindi Bhattian interchange
Islamabad 254 kms more to go...
And we are cruising....oops;)
My kids taking a nap on the way.
We received a light drizzle while approaching the Salt Range.
Driving on this section of the Motorway (Salt Range) can be tricky and must keep the speed limit in check.
Some more shots of the motorway.
The music that we were listening to...
In the convoy only 2 cars are visible where are the other 2.
After a couple of stops on M2, we reached Islamabad toll plaza at 5:15pm and were at our pre-booked guest house in F6/2 at around 6pm.
I was driving one; a white city. The other three were a white cultus and two silver corollas. I dont have a shot of all 4 cars lined up as such.
From Islamabad one family continued their onward journey with relatives, based in Islamabad. They would rejoin the group in Lahore. The evening of July 5th was dedicated to a spectacular view of the capital from the heights of Pir Sohawa. And for dinner, it had to be Monal. Unfortunately the pictures dont do justice...
The next day we had an early breakfast (halwa puri/paratha) at Abpara market and headed towards our next destination i.e. Naran.
We hit the motorway at 8am and exited at Burhan and crossed Hassan Abdal and onto the historic KKH.
Some random shots of the country side. Aah...delicious lechees. We bought several kilos that lasted us a few days.
We drove past Haripur, Havelian, Abbottabad (brief refueling stop at around 10:30am), Mansehra and Balakot before approaching the Kunhar River which was flowing majestically on our right.
My son enjoying the music and the ride...
The landscape gradually changing.
