Yes there is no highway police, only few Coast Guard check posts on the way. If your car breaks down all you have to do is wait n wait for some one to pass by 
You do see some buses n trucks pass every 30 to 45 mins or so. The Baloch are very helpfull people, i think you wont have any problems.

If you are Planning to go with family you should stay in Gawader, in Hotel Marjan or PC.
Once you are on the Coastal Highway you wont find any petrol till Ormara (about 250 kms), about Pitstops only few for tea only

Its about 40 Kms after Vinder, about 100kms from Maripur Bridge, Khi you will see the sign to Gawader.
