Rs. 2 mil: Pajero 2003/4 VS Prado 2000 TZ.... to be or not to be?

saw a prado today... and then my mechanic came to the party!!
ya Allah the details of the engines, and the resales and the papers....

the 'cycle' starts !!

some new opinions that have come to grind..
1. Petrol pajero should also be considered.... the consumption issue if 'offset' by the low cost, relatively hassle-free engine
2. Pajero variants 1993-99 should be considered as well as the 'old tech' engines are better off by virtue of parts availibility and better diagnosis by local mechanics (since they are less electrical)

i would appreciate your feedback on these matters...

A nice, clean 2000+ plus Prado may cost more than 2 mil if ISL or LHR registered, nearly all of them are meter tempered and don't go for the 1KD, 1KZ is good but I guess that stopped in 1999. Pajero is good if you want a nice car and dont plan on doing anything too extreme on it. In the end whichever one you buy try not to buy form a dealer and from someone you know personally or someone comes recommended. In my purchases I learnt that the type of seller is also important. That reflects on how they may have maintained the car during their ownership. Happy hunting

Prado all the way. I have been driving one for last 4 years and been to places where I also thought it can't go but went smoothly. Just put aftermarket good shocks and you will forget everything. In NA areas you will not find any other than Toyota

So what is latest on your SUV hunt, aesculapius1974 ?
I am on the same track with same budget with only one difference that my target is only Prado and none else.
