Running Laptop on UPS power

There is no definition of a good UPS, just make sure the UPS is of pure sine wave technology and not the cheap square wave or modified sine wave that are flooded in the market.

My previous employer burnt 4 batteries in 3 months due to such cheap (quality) UPS...

Which company is using transistors in fans in Pakistan, the thing you are referring is called capacitors and not transistors, big difference between the two. Also I am sure you mean to say that 1500 Watts UPS of APS for 30000+ because if there is a 1500 KW UPS for that price I am ready to buy it.

depends on ups power, i aint charge battery on ups though coz both laptop gives me 5 hours running when battery full & light usually gone for hour, so its better not to take risk, Sony & dell Rocks :D, Peace

Using laptop on UPS has no issues. the only thing that can be effected is your battery life. Just do a test :

"let your battery be charged on ups once and note charging time then use it to note usage time. Now repeat the process on normal electricity".

Reduced charging time or reduced working time of battery (charged on UPS) will mean shortened life of battery, say like a battery which might give you service for three years will give you service for 2 yrs (approx)

i lost my brand new battery in 15 days at ups
now its giving 20 minutes hardly
