Engine swap was a necessity. The rotory was used and abused. no oil changes on time and running on normal petrol. It was dead when we bought the car. Its a common practice to swap these cars with these engines. I am not a huge fan of rotories I dont know what the hype is all about. Piston engines run better, live longer and are easy to maintain. Sure as a engineering feat, the rotory is an amazing achievement but the issues around it just dont make any sense when you can have the option of a piston engine. In my opinion the only advantage of the rotory is its compact size and therefore very low weight. Just my two cents
