Saggy leather seats, how to fix?

Squeaky leather means its hard firstly get some leathrrique treatment then some beeswax on the edges that meet. The squeaks will stop unless the trimming was ham fisted

Pls advise what kind of treatment or product to be used on the leather?

the only product that worked for me was leatherique, its quite expensive and not available in Pakistan either. Get someone to ship you a package from outside Pakistan.

its a 2 stage process - one is the treatment which is left on the leather (its got some protiens and fats that nourish it - it actually smells like fresh leather - yes it stinks) - then the cleaner is applied and rubbed off. Expect to dish out about USD 200/- for a treatment package.

Bro..luxury cars have seats that you sink into..that's why they feel so comfy..the leather stretches to suit the driver..you won't find car..were the leather hasn't stretched..all German cars do it..

I have never ever seen a BMW or infact any german car with soft seats. They are always hard as wood

Bro in my experience these models s class 2000. On. Ls 2000 on. Bmw 7 2001 on. Audi a8 2001 on All are over 50k new.. So the question is are they hard as wood.. Well bro if I was paying 50k plus for a luxury car. An l didn't sink into the seat and think it was more confertable than my arm chair at home I would want a refund. As it goes for non luxury German cars they are exactly like the people that make them ...tough hard wearing and your right not soft. Only supportive.

I think the best solution would be to find better condition replacements from Sharjah either new or from a junkyard and have those shipped and fitted into the car.

Yes they are hard - all german car seats are designed to keep the driver placed correctly at all times - because the business of driving is serious business - specially in germany where you arent even allowed to smoke in your car. I read a very old tech article of BMW once about this, soft cushy seats can cause fatigue and drowsiness for the driver.

The french on the other hand are opposite - their cars have seats so soft you feel like you are sitting on a memory foam sofa.

But the absolute best by any standards were the old SAAB 9000 seats, very supportive, perfectly shaped for the human body, not soft and most even had heating.

Saab seats are very big in the v dub scene. It's shame they went bust. There new big Saab was stunning to look at. A real bargin second hand. As far as French cars go. There a lot better now more like there German competitors. The wort seat was in the 2cv. I bought one just for the experience. Never had so much fun.

Im going to pick up a set of SAAB 9000 seats for my W210 - they are wonderful - the original W210 seats are not good - even the older W124 seats are much much better than the 210 seats.

Have you driven a SAAB 9000 Aero?

Yes I've owned several first one was. 99 great car. At that time no one could repair it. Parts were also a problem. And I could not get use to car. One was the key. The other was no door sills. After I owned 900 9000 aero turbo with wing back seats in bright red. Super fast. Very well engineered The last true Saab. Then gm came along and emptied there scrap parts bin on Saab.

I owned a 900 turbo in UK - it was the GM one though, but I made do with it and applied some fixes on the way - namely the steering brace.

The 9000 aero (Alfa body) was a car built like no other, and could go like lightening in the sky, its gears were really odd, first gear was short, second was so tall that you could break motorway speed limit in it.

For me they were cheap - as I was my own mechanic.

The 99 Saab I owned was a 1981 model I was only 18 at the time. And still in training at collage. I just couldn't afford the tools needed to fix the car. I remember just to change the brake pads there tool u had to buy from Saab. The Saab aero the only reason I sold it was. I found there's to much power going through the front wheel. I prefer that much power at the back end.

That's very true. The best manual gearbox for me was BMW 535 shark nose with the dog leg gear box. Totally mental. 1st gear close to 50. Second u run out of road. Once I got use to it totally insane car.

Regardless that the 9000 was stupidly powerful for a FWD - it was fun and pretty controllable too, you could play with high powered cars on the road.

The 99 was a true tank, hit a bus and the bus is totalled, Changing belts on the engine was crazy though, and the handbrake being on the front wheels was crazier. BUT SAAB gave us cars that no other company would dare. This is a bit of my imagination of how the SAAB technical meetings went.

Body boss - ve need to test it on a moose - you (engg) find a moose farm.
engg - uses crazy insane steel type and design for car to survive landing itself on its roof and then kills a few moose.

powertrain boss - here ve have a turbo - now vot I vant is you boys to make it verk with the old engine
engg - says he was not limited on the discussion to what level of engineering, build or power output was required. - So he makes use of the insane torque the long rod engine can make with the turbo.

testing team, YESH - The new market vants this sort of power - because life and death is only the blink of an eye. Try to focus on more power and acceleration.

I never owned 99 turbo. It's one them cars that got away. One day I'll find..a truly insane car..one thing I missed about saabs was the dash. Totally cool at night you just light up the speedo ". Like u were in a fighter jet..lol it's so sad they are no more...
