My God. No wonder we're viewed as extremists. Or should that be "x-tremists"?
OP...please do not foist your views on how you interpret the letter "X" on everyone else. Or ANYONE else, for that matter. What begins as someone's random opinion, often has the chance to snowball into something much larger, much more sinister, and much more lasting.
I recall a time when "Khuda Hafiz" used to be our common way of saying goodbye to one another, until some bright spark insisted that "Khuda" had "Hindu connotations" to it (how silly is that?). Lo and behold, in due time most people started looking at a person who'd use "Khuda Hafiz" ke jaise khuda na khwasta woh koi dehriya hai. As a result, this terminology has almost disappeared from our lexicon.
I also recall when shops were named "Awan Tyres" or "Chaudhri Enterprises" or "Bhatti Brothers". Now, in an effort to appear more socially correct, these same shops have been "islamised" to "Al-Awan" "Al-Chaudhri" and "Al-Bhatti"...regardless of how morally derelict the shopkeepers might be. All because some fringes of society viewed "Al-" as being much more socially respectable and duly "Islamic". And the trend caught on. And on. And on.
So please...just because you view "X" as a pornographic/sexist/explicit symbol, don't foist your views on anyone else. It makes you appear narrow-minded, obsessive-compulsive, and unreasonable. Which is something that every one of us, as proud Pakistanis and even PROUDER Muslims, should try to dispel at all costs.
Aur ab tau main ne jaa ke apni HAR gaari mein yeh "X" wala card taangna hai. Khushbu hai...ya nahin.
