ok...ill adjust this tomorow..
ijaz bhai i put in kabli pcv but tik tik sound is still coming from pcv...old one had same problem,but old one was like wen i blew air from its top,it took much pressure from my mouth to let air thru it...was it faulty?
i feel engine now breathin much better now,i mean smooth response now!but tht tik tik sound at certain rpm annoys

i dont think so coz it is supposed to give some resistance so that it opens up at certain rpms only enabling stable idling.

If its rattling its good, if not - then try cleaning it with carb cleaner, if it doesnt help, throw it away.

i just cleaned it with carb cleaner,both old and new pcv's have rattle sound,but new one is alot easire to blow thru than old one,,
my mechanic once opened the pcv n tightened its spring,cud this b reason cuz all game is of spring..
i can blow easily from one side of new pcv n it didnt let air back wen i suck...is it ok?ive put it back in car,i mean the new pcv n old one is still here..!

also xulifiqar bhai,i u cud help with my car's strtin prob on petrol wen engine is cold,it strts good on cng,but on petrol,it wont no matter how much selfs,so i have to convert to cng,n wen it strts,i i do it neutral so petrol in lines goes out !

once your PCV is dead - throw it away, never attempt to adjust it by messing with the spring tension. It should blow through without much effort - and yes it should seal if you try to blow the other way.

about your starting problem, try pouring some petrol in the carb throat then start it, if it starts - then you have some sort of fuelling problem - can be blocked idle circuit or anything. Can even be a bad float setting causing the float bowl not to fill correctly with petrol.

I am having very low milage on CNG, about 90 - 100 KM in one cylinder.

A couple of weeks ago I showed my car to some mechanic for some other problem and he told me that my carburetor is not genuine or not in good shape. Can it be the problem of low milage on CNG?

Should I upload pics of my car so that any expert here can have a look at them and let me know that if it is genuine or is there anything wrong.

One thing more that the ignitor cover in distributor is broken from a side. does it do any harm? should I change it? How much does it cost?

Hi,

I am facing a very serious problem in my khyber. Whenever a car gets a jerk from anywhere, even if it is a minor road bump (khadda), It moves to the left by it self.

This is quite dangerous, can anyone suggest what is the problem here?

Hello everyone!

At last after a few weeks i have finished reading the complete forum.

Liked it alot. and happy to see that many have got their problems solved.

i also do DIYs, like tappet adjustments, brake service, etc. Even opened the distributor once without knowing the details i came to know from this forum, but lubricated the weights and springs of the centrifugal advance, changed the vacuum diaphragm with a kabli one, and so on. the dashpot was not working, changed its one-way valve(Plastic) and added the screw to it and its fine now.

Anyways, i will be asking questions too from now on...

first question...
i have recently installed new rings, bigen bearing, valves; the problem is that i am getting white foam in the tappet cover. in my opinion it is the head gasket. Can it be due to engine running cold. (No T-stat valve and Fan direct)?
no water decreasing in radiator cap and a little drop of level in bottle in like 2 weeks...

driven like this for 1000kms. Used Shell Helix (Red bottle) for the first time as per the mechanic suggestion. will be draining it tomorrow... Should i continue with this oil?

the white foam is caused by condensation by running cold and the crankcase not discharging vapor - check the PCV valve - as mentioned in the posts above, also check the valve cover breather for blockage, sometimes the breather baffle gets choked up.

If you have O/H your engine - please install an original Tstat valve in it - or you will destroy it in short time as cold engine oil does not steam off the accumulated condensation from it. And make your fan work on automatic setting too after installing T stat, as it just reduces the life of the fan and loads up the alternator all the time for no reason.

As per your oil foaming issue refer to post of @xulfiqar. In my view it is because of engine running cold and oil is not steaming out the moisture. Tstat & Fan Auto is a must ASAP.

Regarding your engine oil query it depend on your budget but I can tell what I am using as I think its the best available option for my G-10 khyber

Oil: Zic A, SAE 10-40W API-SN (Rs. 1900)
Filter: Leppon (Rs. 200)
Drain interval: 4000 - 5000 Km
Air filter: Guard (Rs.200)
Air filter Change: 10,000Km

Remove PCV Valve and check for proper operation - if it is malfunctioning it will create sludge in your engine which blocks oil galleries, killing your engine

PS..i didnt get wheel aligned cuz he said k front ka kam ho ga tou dobara alignmnt hoti hy so aik he dafa kra laina...alignmnt bohat zaida tou out nae but still it is out a bit!

the alignment on a khyber is pretty basic - just toe in and out, at least do the thread (dhaagga/string) way. If your camber or caster is out of spec - you would need to replace parts as they are non-adjustable - And I hate the idiot alignment shops that machine the main loading bolt of the strut and the steering knuckle to adjust camber - THESE GUYS SHOULD BE SHOT. It is only allowed if the strut itself allows such movement and adjustment.

The chimta is called a control arm - and is fit to the car with a bolt and a bushing and the other end has the ball joint - It may have an additional bush for the antirollbar too.

If your joints are sloppy best to get new control arms or get a shop to install rebuilt joints - some shops actually have a jig press to re design the ball cup and also put a teflon washer in it to long life. install new bushings if they are cracked or damaged, Use silicone grease to lube the bushes

When tightening please DO NOT tighten the bolt with the wheel hub hanging in air (it will kill the bush in short time) instead put a jack underneath the hub and start to jack up - when the car is suspended on the jack and not on the stand - tighten the bolt fully - This way the bush rests in its natural loaded position and will give a long life.
