after repairing the gear box, which was disengaging the 2nd and 4th and 1st gear by itself, now the gear stick is very much hardened, i face trouble engaging the gear into 2nd and still 1 out of 50 time 4th gear disengages by itself again.

i don't know what to do, the gear shifting is very hard.

This is a very common issue in most of the repaired transmissions. The mechanic in order to avoid any near future complain does overdo the shifting fingers.

This problem is also seen in zero meter alto and it gets better with time and patience, same will be in your case it will get better with time. Dont forget to change gear oil at 5000km , you will be able to see a lot of metal particles stuck to the gear oil drain plug's magnet. Use only GL-4 SAE75-85W oil for ur transmission. next gear oil change will be after 40K kms.

In some cases, the adjustment mechanism (three screws on top of the gear box with a spring and ball under neath them) might need aluminum washer to loosen up the hardened shifting. Consult the gear wala for this.

havin some trouble..
i just got may cng cylinder and kit serviced...
a very minor amount of oil came out from cylinder and no oil from ccng kit,it was all dry inside...
the problem before and after cng cleanup was the car acts differently in different weathers..
i mean in morning,wen outside is normal temp,car rpm is stable.
but in noon,wen out side is hot,car vibrates on idle,both in morning and noon,car temp is on middle ,
havent chked on petrol cuz petrol py gari black smoke daiti hy,n its not tunned well on petrol,but o cng,it acts weird?
ive chkd plug wires they are properly intact,
all vaccum pipes are in good shape,have changed few vacuum pipes but no avail.
distributor cap is new and is clean frm inside n outside!
any other ideas???

I just got a set of Ultima Type R (3 Core) plug wires from Karachi.

Previously I was using Ultima sport wires having resistance of about 1K Ohm per feet got them last year for Rs. 650 from Lahore.

They were good wires but these 3 core type R is something better price I paid was Rs. 850.

Resistance per foot is only 200 Ohms resulting in stronger and brighter spark.

With these wires I have increased the spark plug gap from 0.9mm to 1.0mm.

Adjusted the CNG and ignition timing also and the result was noticeable increase in engine response and hopefully will get better mileage too.

Experts can correct me if I have done something wrong.

I've recently started using AC without doing any repair or service. For a few minutes it runs really cool without any problem and just normal load on engine. But after about 5 minutes of use the load on engine increases and increases until a screeching sound starts (I think the magnetic clutch of compressor starts slipping) and I have to switch off the AC.
What could be the issue? Choked receiver/drier or something else?

1. Condenser fan not working at all or too slow to lower the high end pressure

2. Condenser air passage is choked

3. Stuck expansion valve

For a quick check only: What do you see through the glass on top of the drier while its cooling and when it stops.

Note: Donot use AC until you get it fixed or you will end up with a burst pipe or dead compressor.

These new ones are 8mm as was the old ones. Difference is it has 3 conductive cores instead of one so less resistance and longer service life.

Most probable cause of steering vibration at higher speed is unbalanced tyres.

Get all tyres balanced from some professional shop with personal attention to the final 0' 0' result on each tyre. Then check & report.

You can put those tyres in front which took less weight to balance, this way you will ensure vibration less steering for longer.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of tyres larger or smaller than the stock sized tyres. If I buy tyres larger than the stock size, does it mean I have to change the rims also?

khyber's Stock tyre Size: 145/80 R-12 (profile = 80% of 145mm = 116mm)

OPTION 1: 155/70 R-12 (profile = 70% of 155mm = 108.5mm)

OPTION 2: 165/70 R-12 (profile = 70% of 165mm = 115.5mm)

So in my opinion you should go for 165/70 R-12 as it is closest to stock in term of profile of the tyre.

Smaller tyre than stock will result in better acceleration but less top speed. Speedo will not show the exact speed. lower ground clearance.

Larger tyre than stock will result in slower acceleration but higher top speed. speedo will be inaccurate. will not fit in the spare tyre space. lower fuel economy. higher ground clearance but suspension may need alteration or spacers.

Rims are related to R part of the tyre size. I mentioned only those sizes which are with 12" rim.

Go for Yokohama or bridgestone. I am using nexen in 165/70 R-12 for the last 18 months but they have recently lost their grip and became hard. Yokohama has the highest grip with lowest noise.

Dont know the current market trend and rates, so better visit nila gumbad and do a detailed survey for yourself and share the results here so we can figure something out for you.

Hope you will find a good set of tyres in reasonable price there.

Does changing the width of the tyre creates some other problems in car. Will increasing the width make it difficult for me to turn? Will it increase or decrease the turn angle? Any reasonable difference in handling?

First of all what size and brand of tyre you currently using???

Width of 165mm is the max you can get without any issue.
Well technically as compared to 145mm width, you will get
1. better comfort
2. better road grip, handling and braking
3. lower fuel economy
4. negligible increase in turn angle
5. harder but firm steering

ensure 30psi pressure in all four tyres

it cant b possible,u cant run a 13inch tyre on a 12inch rim :)if ur tyre says 13 means the rim it is on is also 13inch
sticking to oem rim & tyre size is best cuz if u increase the rim size of the width u wil get error in speed ur meter is showing u + ul b giving more job to the sterting asembly + ur gona over burden the suspension as well

I cant comment on their durability as that will be determined with time but with just 200ohm/ft of resistance the spark is super bright and blue on NGK platinums I got from you more than a year back. With this I was able to tune my car on a leaner mixture without compromising on pick and drive smoothness.

Rspec is an up level thing with a price tag of 2K plus so no comparison with that.
