use vehicle model manufactured after June 2016 can be imported into Pakistan under gift and personal baggage scheme.

Right Drive vehicles can be maintained and disposed off conveniently in Pakistan. LHD cars from US GCC countries are useless and disaster magnets.

• you can buy a RHD vehicle from online auctions in Japan. Also you purchase a pre-owned certified vehicle from dealership in UK and get it shipped to Pakistan.

the payment of customs duty in Pakistan shall be from foreign remittance landing in bank account of consignee or exchange encashment certificate. Your passport copy will be required at time of clearance etc

please read this thread go through sub threads and you will understand the procedure. Expats / NICOP holders can gift 1 vehicle every 3 years to kin / sibling. Under Transfer of residence as personal baggage is also applicable.

Money Trail for clearance of vehicle, proof of purchase etc etc are pre-requisite for vehicle import.

only smugglers are crying.

without an IBAN no bank can operate an international chain. Basically the smugglers are reluctant to provide source of money transfers to buy a vehicle.

what people term over this forum as import / personal import etc etc was nothing but money laundering and smuggling of vehicles using fake passports.

i can assure you nobody followed legal procedure for money transfer and clearance for so called ' SELF IMPORT ' it was money laundering and fake passports. That is why there was no insurance for vehicle upon shipment after auction house sale,.

do you have any hands-on detail about vehicles stuck on port since 1.5months+? what would be their fate? will they be cleared? as it is said that over 77 countries including Japan usa do not use iban coding. what do you say?

IBAN is a banking code used in common wealth countries., to identify landing & origin of monies.
Pakistan is part of common wealth so every bank have its own IBAN data.

SWIFT Code is International banking communication across the world be it Ethopia or Japan.

The Govt stance for provision of IBAN is to verify the money landing into PAKISTAN. not From Pakistan,

all those vehicle(s) are cleared every day for which consignee is providing proof of foreign remittance into a Pakistan Bank account.

I don't think car smugglers will have any relief before March 2021.

march 2021 means still 5 months more to go? do you think cars will be parked so long on port and then demurrage thing? is there any chance of any special scheme?

there will be no relief to smugglers. if & when they provide requisite data they will be charged with penalties as well as demurrage. Their goods are stuck by their own act of crime and or mistake. The govt has no interest to keep cargo space occupied for free.
