The 'normal' situation in that part is that such incidents are common. We can only pray to Allah Almighty to keep us safe from such incidents. I am hearing about such incidents since 2005 but the only thing is it never came in highlight like this year.

Locals say all the time that such incidents are common. I am not telling this to discourage anyone but its a fact. There is a five man police force in Besal and only two are usually on duty who like to sit around and waste time the whole day. As i mentioned above, when our jeep got stuck, the police guy was very reluctant to go with rescue team and Parvaiz, a well known guide, said that give me gun and i will go. Only then police guy went with the team.
I was travelling with family and Alhamdulillah no such incident happened and neither i heard of anything during the tour.
