What difference is left there in us and the so called Modern West ? shame on us, we were never like that, marriages last a life-time in our world, girl stays happy with whatever kind of husband she gets, marriages last !

Congratulations on the marriage.

Money is not everything, but yes it is very important to have a good life. Your life can change, all you need is to love and believe in each other. I have seen girls/woman taking challenges in their new life and seen those who have made it hell for the partner. I have seen people getting richer after marriage and praising their partner for all the support in the bad times. Things are not always the way we think they are. We have to find a hope in situation, making the most out of it. At least you're married, there are hundreds and thousand of girls who are unmarried and over age. Never know whats coming their way.

I am happy that you're thinking positive. Life is not always the same. People do change. I have seen many cases. Life is not a fairy tale where prince comes in white horse and take away the princes. I don;t know why we have been told all those fairy tales in the childhood. We should be told the reality of life from the beginning so we build ourselves the same way.

Ali Bhai, you're talking about a society following shariah, where a husband knows his responsibilities so the wife follows her, but we are not really following anything. We are leading on our own way, whatever we think is right is our way.
