Im not endorsing the "Totka" guys, im just trying to tell you what people do.

I use Meguiar's Endurance Tyre Gel instead, and do endorse it to be a star; the day i start using such Totkas on my car, i'd rather stop calling myself a Detailer.

hmm - would you be providing the fly swatter and person to use the flyswatter too? People used to pour coke on the tires for this, it also resulted in flies and mosquitoes

you know that you can restore faded black bumpers with animal fat or peanut butter. It will look great, but it also smells great to the dogs, cats, rats etc. So you might end up with NO BUMPERS.

always use Harpic Commode cleaner (Blue Bottle) mix with water to clean your engine and other parts even if there is any zung, Battery acid marks. It will work great & no any side-effect. Apply with spray bottle for 10 to 15 mint , clean with cloth then wash it.
You will see your self.

The biggest Desi Totka i know of is removing the thermostate valve of a car to keep it cool rather than fixing the problem.

furthermore I have seen some weird contraptions being used in wiring, e.g. I have seen a car - Honda civic infact with a relay switching another relay to run the radiator fan.

Reason for install - according to owner, relay se speed barhti hai... tau dau relay se fan speed double hojatee hai, I forgot to ask him for his loaded ciggies though.

Another failure at common sense seen in Suzuki Baleno is breaking the crank sensor trigger wheel due to trying to lever out the main pulley with a screwdriver wrecking both (they are too cheap to buy or make a proper puller which is already quite low cost). Then proceed to brass weld or epoxy it together and wonder why the engine wont start.

THE MORON does not know that brass and epoxy are not magnetic, the crank sensor reads the "steel" tone wheel against the permanent magnet.

the right word for desi totka is "jugaar" which was also used in an article on Harvard business review. angraiz defined it as "making most out of an existing thing by repairing it with minimum resources." he also generalized it to management as "Jugaar management style" i don't know the science of it but it certainly has ruined our cars and many other things. mehanga roay aik baar sasta roay bar bar. I dont know why the world is going crazy about it.

Dont forget the "RELAY" installations, no matter if they in series to the circuit, relay thonkni hai... Rs 500/- pakarnay hain.

this results in broken cable at the end
