I think its ok considering the heavy traffic I have to drive on a daily basis. It also comes down to driving style. If you rev too much, then of course, the mileage will be low. I'm someone who's a realist. No fuel efficient car will give you more than 13-14 km/l in rush hour, provided you drive by the book. So, 11-13 km/l is acceptable to me and I'm more than satisfied. On long drive, If you maintain a constant speed, probably less than 100 km/h, then definitely you'll get more than 17km/l but as I mentioned, I drive at 110-120 kph and the odd 90 kph if I'm feeling a bit tired. So, 17km/l is not a bad average at all.
